Won a hunter chase here (3m1½f, good) in 2014 and returns to the track after a couple of decent efforts at Hexham over a similar trip to this, winning at the beginning of this month from a 7lb lower mark. Again has claims.
Has dropped 7lb for three reasonable efforts over fences so far over similar trips. Now drops in grade with blinkers and tongue strap both added for the first time. Very interesting with conditions no problem.
Won two races last season at Wetherby over 3m on good to soft/good ground, when trained by Mark Walford. The most recent of those was over hurdles in April from 1lb higher than today, while the former was on his chase debut. Didn't complete on stable debut last time, but he has come back from that before. Interesting.
Not easy to win with having claimed just the one chase from 29 runs and been placed 14 times over the bigger obstacles. Showed last time at Hexham that he is capable of going close from this mark, though has never been at his best in three starts here.
Sole chase success was on soft ground over 2m2½f in 2013, though he stays beyond today's distance. Decent effort in context when beaten just over 5L at Hexham last time (3m, good) and from 3lb lower he should be capable of finishing closer to the action.
Sedgefield specialist, though he has run well in defeat here on several occasions and was runner-up (beaten 5L) over hurdles here (2m6f, soft) at the previous meeting. Not as good over fences, but does at least come here with three fairly consistent efforts to his name and may not be far away.
Well beaten in all starts under rules, including in a 2m6f hurdle (soft) here last month. Headgear tried for the first time today but it will need to have a major positive effect to see her get competitive.
Broke his chasing duck at the eighth attempt when scoring over C&D (good) last month at 50/1. Raised just 2lb for that,so no complaints on that score, but now in a better race and has never previously backed up a win, so there must be doubts that he can today.
Goes into this 6lb lower than when a 4L runner-up over 2m3½f (good to soft) at Sedgefield in December, but has been unable to come up with anything worthwhile since then and unless there is market support for him to suggest a revival, he looks best watched.

Forecasts
Sendiym (5/2), Dica (4/1), More Madness (4/1), Brother Scott (11/2), Jaunty Thor (8/1), Bankhall (12/1), Volcanic Jack (16/1), Alchimix (20/1), Mahler Bay (25/1), Pineapple Crush (25/1)
Dica, Volcanic Jack and Brother Scott all arrive here in decent form and have to be considered, while Sendiym is another to add to that list. Bankhall is an in and out performer and he could spoilt the party for those taking him on if he is on a 'going' day, though preference is for JAUNTY THOR. Oliver Greenall's charge has dropped to what looks a workable mark here. He has also dropped in grade and with first-time headgear on he may have what it takes.
- Jaunty Thor
- Dica
- Brother Scott
