Has run over jumps but lightly-raced on the Flat (both starts on the AW) and started at big prices on both starts showing only minor promise.

Unraced five-year-old who cost just £600 as a four-year-old. Unplaced in a bumper and hardly one to have much confidence in here making his Flat debut.

One of two three-year-old debutantes here and is quite nicely related being a half-brother to the staying winner Always Summer. Dam was unraced but a half-sister to the smart Craigsteel.

Looks a longer term project having finished last in a 1m1f maiden on his debut at Lingfield when 50/1.
Makes some appeal on pedigree and certainly ran as though he needed the run on his debut. Wasn't knocked around when he was beaten and should make a step forward here if only a small one.

The other three-year-old in the field making his debut for a mainly jumps based yard who are though getting together a stronger and stronger Flat string. This one is a half-brother to three winners and it will be interesting to see what the market makes of him.

Hardly a cheap purchase and a half-brother to three winners including Gold Cup winner Big Orange. Well held on his debut though at Yarmouth in an unpromising start to his career and more needed here.

Ran against other debutantes at Newmarket first time up and shaped as though he would be better for the run and better could be expected with that run behind him.

80/1 on debut over C&D and offered very little after being slow away and steadied at he start and was never involved.

Will need to show a lot more if she is to make any impression at all here going with very little promise or fluency and always to the rear on her Goodwood debut.

Had a couple of runs last year on the AW over 7f (started at a big price both times) and was well held on those starts and if anything looks one more for handicaps.

Forecasts

Pouvoir Magique (1/2), Intellect (7/4), Stormy Blues (3/1), Airway (9/2), Titan (5/1), Desi Daru (14/1), Outofthequestion (16/1), Artic Nel (20/1), Benissimo (33/1), Volturnus (33/1), Clearance (66/1), French Silver (100/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong contest and it will be surprise if POUVOIR MAGIQUE gets beaten here with this being very much weaker contest that he made his debut in at Sandown Park recently. Strong opposition is thin on the ground with Titan, Intellect, Airway and Outofthequestion all looking to have chances but none have achieved the level of the likely market leader here.
  1. Pouvoir Magique
  2. Titan
  3. Outofthequestion
