Red Jazz colt, cost €10,000 as a yearling and bought for 26,000 gns at the sales last month. Half-brother to a number of Flat winners including sprinter Soccer Brave and got his career off to a flying start at Musselburgh earlier in the month, benefiting from coming off a strong pace. Entitled to come on for that and shaped like he would enjoy this step up in trip; strong claims in his follow-up bid.
Scat Daddy colt, second foal of a Canadian 1m¼f AW winning half-sister to Canadian 1m1f Listed winner Noble Strike. Improved for his debut when finishing a close third over C&D last time out and trainer has an excellent record that exceeds 20% at this course. Should continue to improve and some cut in the ground last time so conditions unlikely to be an issue.
Kodiac colt, cost €75,000 as a foal and bought for 110,000 gns at the Breeze-Ups. Plenty of speed in his pedigree but seemingly unfancied on debut and finished seventh of 11. May need more time.
Exceed and Excel colt, cost €180,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to two-year-old winner and Listed placed Nossa. Dam a multiple Listed winner and half-sister to German Oaks third Nouvelle Fortune. Interesting mix of speed and stamina in his pedigree and interesting to see what the market makes of him on debut.
Requinto colt, cost €8,000 as a yearling and bought for 44,000 gns at the sales last month. Shaped okay on debut when fifth of eight at Salisbury and the winner has come out and franked that form with a fine effort at Royal Ascot since. Interesting if he can build on his debut run.
Big Bad Bob filly, cost 42,000 gns as a yearling and whose dam won over 6f and 7f. Needs significant improvement to figure in this contest after moderate efforts at Redcar and Lingfield and one who will probably do better when handicapping.
ROLAND ROCKS won well on debut and he could be even better upped another furlong in trip. Dichato ought to carry on improving after an improved effort over course and distance last time and Nicklaus is an interesting debutante who should be monitored in the market.
