Galloping type that beat Amirr further on the second occasion they met (at Southwell) than the first here at Worcester, so seems to be improving. Probably won't mind rain and even under the penalties, the one to beat here.
Back to form when winning at Fakenham last time but that form weak, and has already taken a knock or two. Penalty to carry here and a bit to find with the principals to challenge for top honours.
Turned over the odds-on Innocent Girl at Wincanton in April before getting beaten at odds-on herself last time out, and the form of her win may not be entirely reliable. Won't want to get into a duel with Gustave Mahler on the front here and any rain unlikely to help her cause either.
Won a little Irish point-to-point in March but thrashed on debut under Rules at Newton Abbot in May and this simply looks too tough.
Has shown some ability in bumpers but very disappointing on latest start at Stratford, stopping quickly, and connections now go for the tongue tie. Yard still struggling for form and can only be watched on hurdles debut today.
Been a while since he got his head in front (Jan 2016, on the Flat at Wolverhampton) and recent Flat form is a tale of woe. Can't be considered the likely winner here.
Pulled up in point-to-points and never in it on hurdles debut at Newton Abbot, jumping leaving a bit to be desired. No realistic chance here.
Forecasts
Gustave Mahler (5/6), Listen To The Man (6/4), Gannicus (10/1), Deshan (25/1), Breaking Ground (66/1), Overrider (100/1), Lady Jameson (100/1)
Not many can realistically be given a chance here, and it looks a good opportunity for GUSTAVE MAHLER to wrap up a hat trick of wins in novice company. He simply galloped his rivals into the ground at Southwell last time and that may well be the case again here. Listen To The Man won't want to take the selection on early but can take second if settling in behind. Gannicus looks a clear third best.
- Gustave Mahler
- Listen To The Man
- Gannicus
