Plenty of speed in the pedigree and showed plenty of ability to score easily on debut at Carlisle last November. Not so good at Market Rasen in April but that was quit a hot race for the grade, and this looks easier. Handled cut on debut, so no issue with any rain.
Likely to want further in time, but top yard have a decent strike rate in bumpers here (4-17 last five seasons) and is bound to be wound up for debut. One of the more likely players.
From same yard as Kings Ryde. Related to useful handicap hurdler Bale O'Shea and bred to have a bit of speed. Market should guide to chances in relation to stablemate and any money needs noting.
Midnight Legend gelding that showed ability on debut here in early June, although the fact the first five finished in a heap suggests the form may not be that strong. Yard do get winners in this sphere but are a bit quiet by their standards at present.

Related to black-type Flat winners and should have some speed about him, but far too green to do himself justice on debut at Warwick in May and was soundly beaten. Will know more here but looks one that needs time.

Gold well gelding that was made favourite for his debut at Ffos Las in late May, but looked one paces at the finish and already looks in need of further. Rain may help his cause, and yard 5-21 here in bumpers last five seasons.

Forecasts

Malton Rose (7/4), Kings Ryde (3/1), Country'n'western (9/2), Mac Tottie (5/1), Tis What It Is (6/1), Nuclear (33/1)

Verdict

Not an easy bumper to sort out at this stage, and the market should prove informative. TIS WHAT IT IS is given a tentative vote at this stage, as any rain should help his cause (looks a galloping type rather than a quickener) and he should know more after a satisfactory debut at Ffos Las last time. Malton Rose makes the most appeal of the Henderson pair on paper, and Country'n'western will appreciate this lesser task, although it's never easy giving weight away in these events.
