Showed some fair form in handicaps when he was with his former trainer (Stuart Williams) and there was some definite hints of better to come when he third on his debut for this yard. Did looks a little awkward on that run but showed there was something to work on in the future. Still without his usual headgear and can be slow away but dies look one to keep on the right side of.

From a stable that has been in excellent form all season with this one contributing three wins to the stable total. Looked better than ever last time when scoring at Brighton over 1m2f again scoring by only a small margin. Those small margin wins have helped to keep the handicap mark under control but now off a near career high mark and 4lb up for the last win.

Started his Flat campaign fit from hurdling but hasn't been able to put that to any advantage at all and now tried with different headgear (cheekpieces on first-time) in an attempt to find some spark.

Formerly with Charlie Hills he looks the sort that his current yard can do well with off a falling mark but he remains a maiden having shown glimpses of form. Travelled well on his penultimate start but couldn't back that up in stronger race last time and although he drops back in grade a record of 0/14 isn't the most inspiring.

Is a C&D winner here but that came back in 2015 when he was in much better form and although he's run some solid enough races of late off lower marks there is a question mark about him fully applying himself. Now resides 8lb below his highest winning mark and respected off this mark if he puts it all in.

Forecasts

Flying Fantasy (13/8), Miss Inga Sock (3/1), Arithmetic (4/1), Tyrsal (5/1), Invictus (10/1), Indian Chief (12/1)

Verdict

Just a small field handicap but a competitive one with chances given to most here Miss Inga Sock can’t be easily written off as she goes for her fourth win of the year for a yard that is still in very good form and she may just be capable of winning again off this mark. Tyrsal appears to like it here and could take advantage of a falling mark but Indian Chief and Arithmetic will have to overcome a few negatives to score. FLYING FANTASY always looked decent when he was with Stuart Williams and the move to the Mick Appleby yard is hardly a downgrade and he showed plenty of promise on his debut for the yard.

  3. Tyrsal
