Winner of one of the first two-year-old races of the season in a race at Sandown Park that his stable have a good record in. He made a good impression on his debut and despite having to concede weight all-round he looks as though he can improve again although that Sandown form has yet to be tested.

From a stable that have an excellent record with their juvenile debutantes this year (60% strike-rate; 9/15) and that makes 220,000 guineas yearling of interest here. Brother to smart winner up to 7f Birchwood and 6f winner Desert Frost with the dam also having won over 7f. Hooded for his debut but given the form of his yard with juveniles will have to be watched in the market here.

Showed plenty of ability on his debut in a 6f novice event at Newmarket last time out when parked a little wider than would have been ideal from the main body of the runners. Pedigree suggests he should be suited by this extra furlong and should improve and come on from his debut.

Weak in the market on his debut (33/1 shot) and shaped as if he needed the experience when sixth on debut at Leicester. Off the bridle before halfway and racing on the outside this run and his pedigree suggest that he'll need more time and will find the rest a bit too sharp here.

Forecasts

Falmouth Light (6/4), Maksab (2/1), Jazirat (4/1), Rhosneigr (6/1)

Verdict

This probably boils down to a contest between potential and experience with the newcomer Jazirat having plenty of potential on his debut and coming from a yard with a fabulous record with their debutantes this year. But FALMOUTH LIGHT impressed on his debut and may well be able to improve again and give the penalty away with his previous experience a big help. Both Maksab and Rhosneigr are expected to also show more on their second runs but neither hold the potential of the other two.
  1. Falmouth Light
  2. Jazirat
  3. Maksab
