Bit disappointing over 1m2f at the Curragh last time out on soft to heavy ground, had shown enough in four prior runs this year to merit consideration but lack something in terms of consistency. For that reason cannot be ruled out here either.
Filly has won three times on the Flat before, though she was below her best when last spotted at the Curragh in October over 1m2f. Won 2m chase contest at Wexford in April on reappearance, not as good since. Interesting back on the level, market check advised.
Twice hit the frame in four starts this term, flopped at Navan (1m5f, good) last time out but shouldn't be harshly judged and may bounce back in first-time cheekpieces.
First run for the yard, coming off a layoff, remains a maiden after eight starts in Britain but the best of his form would have him in the mix. Market can guide expectations on stable bow.
Has two wins from nine starts on the Flat, both achieved on the AW at Dundalk. Is now 8lb higher than the most recent of those in November (1m4f) but could have more to offer switched back after being hurdling since.
Has been improving over hurdles lately, scoring in a 2m maiden (yielding to soft) at Wexford earlier this month. Has something to find on previous Flat form but the jockey booking suggests confidence.
Twice went close on AW over staying trip at Dundalk and Wolverhampton in May and again ran sound race over hurdles at Downpatrick ten days ago. Blinkers return now and entitled to have her say.
Tailed-off at Southwell last time and possibly she failed to handle the surface. Previous effort at the Curragh (1m4f, soft) had worked out well but the form still looks short of what may be required here.
Decent effort on reappearance at Cork (1m2f, good to firm) last month but failed to build on it since at Roscommon. Up in trip now but isn't favoured at these weights.
Forecasts
Chocolat Noir (7/2), Water Sprite (4/1), Creeping Ivy (5/1), Nanabad (5/1), Denham Sound (5/1), Little Stampy (9/1), Byron Beauty (10/1), Bibliotheca (16/1), Torquay (33/1)
Creeping Ivy was going the right way on the Flat last winter and while up in the ratings now back from hurdling, certainly shouldn't be overlooked from resuming that progress. Little Stampy went close twice on the AW last month and should have a say in this blinkers back on now while Denham Sound was a winner over timber already this month and the booking of Smullen for this Flat return is not missed. Nanabad is not consistent but could easily run well, though it might it prove wise to forgive CHOCOLATE NOIR her last time out flop at Navan. The daughter of Yeats has been knocking on the door prior to that and may bounce straight back with the cheekpieces added for the first time now.
- Chocolat Noir
- Little Stampy
- Creeping Ivy
