Mastercraftsmen colt, cost 80,000 gns as a yearling. Dam was a Grade 3 winner over this sort of trip in America. Trainer has a fine record in this race so can't be dismissed.

Mount Nelson colt, cost 60,000 gns as a yearling. Dam was a smart US miler and a half-sister to Group 3 winner Purr Along. Nice debut over 6f and Goodwood and the step up in trip will only help. Could go well.

Worthadd colt, cost €56,000 as a foal, £35,000 as a yearling before being bought for £130,000 at the Breeze-Ups in April. Not beaten far on either of his starts to date but will need a giant step forward to take a race of this nature.

Street Cry colt whose dam was a Listed winner out of half-sister to Derby runner-up Eagle Mountain. Easy winner on debut at Newbury but hasn't really progressed from that run. Folded tamely at the Curragh last time and looks like the second-string on jockey bookings.

New Approach colt, cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Dam was a smart winner over this trip as a two-year-old. Not beaten far by the reopposing Westerland at Leicester on debut and trainer has a good strike-rate when teaming up with this jockey (21.88%). Couldn't rule out a big run here.
Big Bad Bob colt, cost €40,000 as a yearling. Finished second on debut at Lingfield but that form likely to be a far cry from what he's going to need here. Trainer and jockey both amongst the winners this week.

3/1
New Approach colt whose dam won the UAE Derby and was a half-sister to Group 2 winner Vancouverite. Stayed on well to score at Goodwood on debut having been a little out-paced early. Sure to benefit from this step up in trip and he looks like a leading player for a yard in excellent form.
Declaration Of War colt, bought for 180,000 gns as a Breeze-Up purchase in April. Work to do to turn the form around with Westerland and Hey Gaman from his debut run and others hold stronger claims. First-time tongue-tie applied.
Manduro colt, cost €10,000 as a foal and €18,000 as a yearling. Would appear to be in need of further than this judged on his pedigree but did manage to win over 6f on debut so should be even better over this sort of trip. Windsor race he won on debut likely to be a fair bit below the level of form required here though.

Sir Percy colt, cost 13,500 gns as a foal and €22,000 as a yearling. Probably wants further than this trip and finished only third at Redcar on debut. Plenty of winners have come out of that contest but others bring stronger form to the table here.

Frankel colt, and half-brother to a host of winners. Showed plenty of promise on his debut and improved to win at Leicester on second start when he had a couple of these in behind. Should carry on improving.

Shamardal filly, half sister to plenty of winners including Listed class Dibayani. Won a Kempton maiden on second start and no doubt she will enjoy another step up in trip here but will have to improve a fair bit.

Champs Elysees filly, cost just 5,000 gns as a foal but bought for 25,000 gns as a yearling. Prevailed narrowly at Windsor last time and no doubt she will enjoy another step up in trip but that form looks a little weaker than what some of her rivals bring to the table here. Quite green on both starts to date so no surprise if she takes another step forward.

Arch filly, cost 40,000 gns as a yearling. Closely related to several winners including Group 2 winner Weary and Grade 3 winner Stellar Path over similar trips to this. Won with a bit in hand at Salisbury on debut and entitled to come on for that effort. Interesting runner with a solid each-way chance.

Deep Impact filly, bred for a little further than this but couldn't have won her debut any easier and yard's runners often come on markedly for their first run. That looked like an above average maiden and she holds leading claims for a yard that won this contest last year with dual Guineas winner Churchill.

Forecasts

September (11/8), Masar (3/1), Nyaleti (10/1), Westerland (10/1), Match Maker (12/1), Hey Gaman (14/1), Gold Town (16/1), Highlight Reel (25/1), Optimum Time (25/1), Learn By Heart (25/1), Abandon Ship (33/1), Bartholomeu Dias (40/1), Elysium Dream (50/1), We Are The World (50/1), Bustam (100/1), Di Fede (100/1)

Verdict

SEPTEMBER was mightily impressive on debut and she ought to take a big step forward from that run for connections who won last year's renewal. Nyaleti is related to some smart sorts and won well on debut while Masar looks the more likely winner of the two Godolphin runners and could be the main danger to the selection.
