Won a couple of races on the AW at Dundalk when with Michael Halford but suffered a training set-back and hasn't looked the same horse in limited number of starts since. Still officially rated as the best of the bunch but needs to prove he still retains ability and no easy task ahead on these terms.
Won on his racecourse debut and been mainly consistent ever since. At least made the frame in six of his thirteen starts and possible the slower ground was his undoing last time. This is his easiest assignment for a while and has to merit an interest in this company.
Just one win since August 2014 and not the most reliable character; last two starts have been poor and now has a lot to prove. Step up to 7f in his favour but still makes limited appeal for win only purposes.
Already switched yards a couple of times but has shown little on the racecourse to merit such interest. Well beaten on debut for his current trainer last time out and very to get enthusiastic about his chances on the back of that performance.
Well beaten in a weaker claimer that this last time out and needs to step things up considerably to even make the frame. Drops in trip but still has a lot to prove at the moment.
Good effort in a seller over C&D last time and holds solid claims if capable of repeating the effort this afternoon. Never been noted for consistency though and looks risky for win only purposes.
Likes this course and has claims at this level on the pick of his efforts. Set to carry topweight in a handicap on Friday, so interesting if he turns out quickly in this much easier looking contest. First-time headgear combined with a drop in grade looks an interesting combination.
No wins from 14 previous starts and arrives here in pretty poor form. The drop in trip is not sure to be ideal and looks more of an experiment than a long-term plan. Not hard to overlook on recent evidence.
Long-standing maiden and very hard to see him being good enough to force the result his way. Rated just 32 and looks flattered at that - the first-time visor needs to work wonders.
Unexposed over the trip and arguably ran one of her best races over C&D; but that was almost four years ago and her form has taken a nosedive since then. Also drops significantly in trip and would be very brave to keep the mare involved in any betting plans if recent performances are anything to go by.
Yard employed the services of this jockey to win a similar race at Ripon on Thursday and his skill in the saddle combined with a 7lb claim are useful tools to have in the locker. The filly has decent claims on these terms and has to one for the shortlist for an in-form yard.
Appreciated the drop in trip to win a modest seller last time out. New connections have handed her every chance of following up at the weights and she is one to bear in mind of if the market shows her in a positive light.
Last in all three starts so far and not hard to see why she's been handed such a lowly rating. Tongue-tied for the first time but hard to envisage the application will bring about the requisite improvement.
Forecasts
Pobbles (11/4), Tadaawol (4/1), Golden Raven (11/2), Nonno Giulio (6/1), Sophisticated Heir (7/1), Monsieur Jimmy (8/1), Miss Goldsmith (9/1), Iberica Road (28/1), Never Give In (33/1), Bertha Burnett (66/1), Jon H The Lawman (66/1), Catskill (80/1), Conjuror's Bluff (100/1)
All of these have questionable form and it's little surprise to see the in claiming company. However, TADAAWOL can lay out a more solid case than most; and he has very little to find to brush this lot aside. Others to bear in mind include: Miss Goldsmith, who is from a highly respected yard and, like Pobbles, has been given a sound chance of at least making the frame on these terms, while , Golden Raven is officially rated as the best horse in the race but needs to better his recent form if he is going to get back to winning ways.
- Tadaawol
- Miss Goldsmith
- Golden Raven
