9lb lower here than when winning over this sort of trip (good) at Chester 13 months ago and has run well from higher marks on the All Weather since then. Drops in class here, which may be the route to a more prominent finishing position.
Has two selling wins to his name over this trip on turf, though his sole handicap success came on the All Weather at Newcastle in December from 11lb lower than today. Last seen winning a classified event at the same venue in February and has not yet won when fresh, so still has a little to prove.
Handles most surfaces, although both turf wins have been on soft, which suggests a preference for those conditions. Comfortably held from this mark/1lb higher in his two starts this season and now claimer gets the leg up. Looks up against it, though market check suggested.
Sole success was in a Redcar handicap (1m1f, good to firm) last month from a mark of 69. Handicapper (and possibly the step up to 1m4f) has accounted for him in both subsequent starts, but connections have such a good record here that you couldn't rule him out over this trip and in first-time headgear from 1lb lower.
Has made the frame on his last two starts at Nottingham (1m½f, good) and Windsor (1m, soft). Dropped 1lb for the latter, when he was sent off as favourite and beaten nearly 5L, and now back on faster ground he can't be ruled out.
Came good (on his first start after being gelded( at Salisbury (1m2f, good to firm) in May from a mark of 68. Soft ground the most likely reason for his lack lustre effort last time and now back on forecast faster conditions he is capable of better.

Berlusca is interesting now dropped in grade and should be capable of going well, while Teodoro could also do better dropped back to this trip and with headgear applied. Thello can't be ruled out, though he does have a bit to prove, while Suspect Package and CARTAVIO were probably both unsuited by softer conditions last time. Both of them should be in there pitching at the finish again today and it is the latter who is just preferred.
