Needs to show some improvement to take a hand here despite showing some ability in his first two start although may be of interest when the nursery season comes around.

Holds a Group 1 entry so clearly thought of as useful by his yard and he certainly showed plenty of ability on his debut at Goodwood. Travelled strongly there and only beaten by a well-bred and well-backed Godolphin newcomer.

30,000 guineas yearling who is a half-brother to three winners on the Flat and from a yard that do well with their two-year-olds and is one of two that they run in the race. Most of the yards juveniles have needed the run here and that may well be the case here.

Half-brother to 6f two-year-old-winner Waqaas but from a yard that are 0/24 with juveniles in the past five years and best watched here.

One of pair that the yard run in the race with this one having had a little more experience from his run at Goodwood behind Invincible Army. Only 5/1 on that occasion so clearly better was expected and no surprise to see him step forward today.

Debutante from a powerful yard who is a half-brother to a couple of winners out of a well-bred dam who was a 7f juvenile winner. Trainer doesn't have a great record with his debutantes though in the last few years and this one could well need the experience.

This stable have not been short of juvenile debutante winners this year and they would also have an idea of how good Invincible Army as one of theirs beat that one on debut at Goodwood. Cost $575,000 as a yearling so wasn't cheap although he's bred to be a bit better over further but clearly of interest coming from this yard.

Forecasts

Invincible Army (8/13), Tribal Quest (3/1), Tathmeen (7/1), Robinson Crusoe (16/1), Devil's Cowboy (33/1), Thunder North (33/1), Rockies Spirit (66/1)

Verdict

The Charlie Appelby yard have had a very good season with their juveniles especially those on debut and that clearly makes his Tribal Quest of interest here especially as he will have a good idea of where he stands with INVINCIBLE ARMY. However that one showed plenty of ability on debut still holds a Group 1 entry and could well put his experience to good use here. Of the others both the Hannon runners Robinson Crusoe and Tathmeen are of interest while Devil’s Cowboy should be noted for the nursery season.
  1. Invincible Army
  2. Tribal Quest
  3. Tathmeen
