Just foiled on her chasing debut at Kilbeggan in April (2m4f good), and probably found the shorter trip against her at Roscommon last month. 5lb claimer aboard.
2
Horse silk
6/4
Dual hurdles winner who blew her chance with a blunder at the fourth on chasing debut at Ballinrobe last month (pulled up) in a race that went to her lesser fancied stablemate Modem.

Not tasted success over fences despite eight previous attempts, but this would appear a more realistic opportunity. Won on the AW at Dundalk in May, prior to a slightly low-key showing at Perth.

12/1
Pressing the winner (Eight Till Late) under pressure when falling two out at Clonmel earlier this month, which was a step up on her previous form over fences. Should have no trouble with the forecast ground conditions.
Ten race maiden, and always towards the rear on her chasing debut at Tramore earlier this month, so easily ignored.

Plenty of experience in Point-to-Points (1 from 18) and third of five in a 2m7f course hunters chase in May, but less competitive in handicaps since and unlikely to be good enough.
7

9/2
Held every chance when falling at the last on her chasing debut at Roscommon (2m5f good) in May, and found 2m on the sharp side when third to Lily Yeats at Tramore latest. Should be better suited by this longer trip.

50/1
A seventeen race maiden over hurdles and never sighted on her rules chasing debut over C&D last month. Little chance.
Ten race maiden under rules (and 0 from 3 in Point-to-Points) so hard to see her involved in any shape or form on her rules chasing debut.

Placed on a few occasions over this kind of trip in late 2015 (mainly with cut) and does at least know how to jump a fence (0 from 14), but very lightly raced over the past 18 months and likely to need this despite a run at Wexford earlier in the month. Wears a visor for the first time.

Picked up by these connections for £58,000 after winning a Wexford bumper in April 2016, but has lacked any signs of progress over hurdles and can be considered a disappointment. Feasible that chasing might be her game, so worth watching out for market confidence.

25/1
Ten race maiden over hurdles and no joy in a couple of recent spins on the Flat. Goes over fences for the first time in a 28 race career which has yielded just a sole 1m4f Dundalk success.

Plain Talking11
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: G N Fox| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  118| D
7/1
A three time winning hurdler (with cut) in early to mid 2016, but largely held by the handicapper since. Not disgraced, but equally nothing startling, when fifth of 14 on fencing debut at Roscommon a fortnight ago.

Horse silk
10/1
Raced mainly on a softer surface in novice and maiden hurdles with a degree of success, but struggled on better ground in handicaps more latterly. Heads over fences for the first time but with Theatre Wine probably the stables number one tonight.

Forecasts

Billy's Hope (6/4), Kalopsia (9/2), Colla Pier (6/1), Plain Talking (7/1), Strike Is Back (10/1), At Rainbow's End (12/1), Definite Income (12/1), Theatre Wine (16/1), Meadow Cross (25/1), Springbelle (33/1), Erkindale Lady (40/1), Nevada Rose (50/1), Howwouldsheno (66/1), Olympic Queen (66/1)

Verdict

A beginners chase limited to mares, so highly likely that we've not got any really progressive types on our hands. Plenty of these horses should appreciate this trip, and these include At Rainbow's End and Kalopsia who have both shown some signs of ability over fences. The Gordon Elliott pair Theatre Wine and Strike is Back will hopefully improve for a switch to fences, whilst Plain Talking could well build upon her Roscommon debut over the larger obstacles. However, whilst she needs a clear round, a chance is taken that DEFINITE INCOME can bounce back from her Clonmel fall, over a trip, and on ground, which should suit her well based upon her winning hurdles form.
  1. Definite Income
  2. Kalopsia
  3. At Rainbow's End
