Best efforts have been with cut in the ground, though has a good to firm win to his name too. Well behind Lincoln at York last time, but a 3lb drop and a decent claimer up here change the dynamic now and he could finish much closer.
Former Listed winner who has yet to add a handicap to his CV and is without a win for well over two years now. Ran well from 1lb higher at Doncaster in April (6f, good) and if he could reproduce that effort then he would have claims.
Fast ground Musselburgh winner (7f) last season from a 10lb lower mark but has kept creeping up in the weights courtesy of some very strong efforts in defeat, including last time out back over that same C&D. Unexposed over this short after just one previous try, but will need plenty of pace on to be seen to best effect.
2lb higher than when winning at Yarmouth (6f, soft) in September and although he has been running well from 1lb higher in recent outings, he still just looks to be in the grip of the assessor for the time being.
Back on the same mark as his last win, which was a little over a year ago at Ripon (6f, good). Has put in plenty of decent efforts since then, including when beaten just ½L from 7lb higher in a better race at York (good to soft) in September. Cheekpieces added today and he looks to be a danger to all.
Won on fast ground over this trip at Ripon two starts ago, but well beaten last time and has never won from a mark as high as this, so others preferred in what is a competitive heat.
Has won two and been placed in three of his seven starts, so is developing into a consistent and improving performer. Both wins have been with cut underfoot, so any rain would be a bonus, but handles good ground too and from 2lb higher than his last run he should remain competitive.
Beat Glengarry 1L in receipt of 12lb from that reopposing rival when scoring over 7f here last month. Now 2lb worse off with that more consistent performer and although a good run is not ruled out, he may just find one or two too good.

Forecasts
Scorching Heat (5/4), Glengarry (4/1), Lincoln (11/2), Handsome Dude (13/2), Flying Pursuit (7/1), Ninjago (8/1), Dragon King (10/1), Tommy G (11/1), Harwoods Volante (12/1), Explain (16/1), Giant Spark (20/1)
Plenty of competition here with Lincoln set to go well from top weight and both Paul Midgley's pair, Giant Spark and Ninjago, having points of merit. Glengarry should be doing his best work at the finish, while Handsome Dude and Dragon King should be thereabouts and the traveller Scorching Heat is entitled to plenty of respect. Even so, FLYING PURSUIT is back on a winning mark and can make the most of it.
