A Southwell winner back in January he's not been in much form of late and looks rather out of sorts at present. Usually goes from the front but needs to show more before he's of interest again especially as he's 0/5 on the AW surface here.
Usually blasts off in front and overdid those tactics last time out Lingfield (turf) over 5f and will need to save something for the finish here. Not won since scoring at Nottingham over a year ago off a 9lb higher mark.
Has been placed in maidens and handicaps of late but overall record reads 0/13 and not one to have massive confidence in. Comes here off the back of a poor run and others looks stronger even in this lowly grade.
Has scored five times over C&D and despite the losing run that is starting to stack up now he comes here with a decent chance against this modest bunch. Ran respectably here on turf last time and with no obvious improvers in the line-up has to be considered.
The nearest we have to an improver in this with her handicap debut in April looking to give her a chance here. Has run a couple of solid races since but not obviously well suited by the 5f trip last time on turf and may not be able to get going in time.
C&D on her first start of the year when her stable was in good form and ran consistently well after that on the AW. Well held back on turf last time out over 5f here but not totally ruled out switching back to the AW.
Forecasts
Powerful Wind (3/1), Staffa (7/2), Fabulous Flyer (4/1), Regal Miss (9/2), Pharoh Jake (13/2), Elusivity (7/1)
Quite a complex little contest but it should be run at a good pace with Powerful Wind likely to go from the front and it will be a question if he can hold on as he usually does a little too much. Fabulous Flyer will enjoy this return to the AW and can’t be ruled out while Staffa will appreciate the really strong pace having looked to find 5f too short last time. PHAROH JAKE is well used to winning around here and after a respectable run on turf last time he’s worth siding with here.
- Pharoh Jake
- Powerful Wind
- Staffa
