100/1
Hasn't beaten a rival home in his last two runs, coming home at walking pace last time out at Cork (1m2f, good) a month ago. Tongue strap on first time now, huge improvement required.

Aljunood18

Improved for step up a 1m at Listowel on second start earlier this month. Will likely need to come forward again to take home the prize here.

Has been going backwards in four runs this term, though the pick of his form would have him in the mix for this. Down in trip.

Wasn't particularly impressive on debut at Leopardstown last month, and it will be interesting to see if he can show anything like the required improvement to have a say in a competitive maiden of this nature.

Poet's Voice filly wore a tongue strap (retained) on debut over 1m at Listowel (good) earlier this month when beaten just over 6L, entitled to come on for that run.

Kirk's Dancer312
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: C P Hoban| T: M Halford
7/2
Just over 3L third in 7f maiden won by subsequent dual Classic winner Winter on the AW at Dundalk in August, has been off since but could easily come forward on that run now, yard have been a bit quite lately however.

Xenobiah32
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Chris Hayes| T: W T Farrell| BF
7/4
Defied odds of 50/1 to be second in C&D (yielding) maiden in October on debut run, returned to action 32 days ago with 1¼L fifth of 16 over 7f at Navan (good) and should have sound claims of going close in this.

Forecasts

Xenobia (7/4), Kirk's Dancer (7/2), Aljunood (4/1), Guthanna Gaoithe (5/1), Buffalo Blues (7/1), Frozen Moon (33/1), Handsome Maverick (100/1)

Verdict

Kirk's Dancer deserves respect on the basis of her proximity to Winter in an AW maiden last summer but she hasn't raced since so will have fitness to prove and her yard have been under a bit of a cloud lately. On that bases, XENOBIA gets the nod here. She defied big odds to be second over C&D on her debut in the autumn and showed she has trained on with a good second over 7f at Navan recently. She ought to be right in the firing line for this pot. Aljunood and Buffalo Blues, on his best form, are other that might get involved.
  1. Xenobia
  2. Kirk's Dancer
  3. Aljunood
