Modest hurdler, was beaten 41L on chasing bow over 2m1f at Clonmel earlier this month and appears to have limited hopes at the moment.
Decent performer over timber and has already won a beginners chase over this C&D in October on good ground for this excellent rider. Perfectly acceptable third no comeback at Ballinrobe last month and should go close.
Only the one win in 37 starts on the Flat and over hurdles doesn't make for great reading, first attempt over these obstacles and not one to place a lot of faith in seemingly.
Won three of 11 starts over hurdles, achieving a rating of 123 as he did. Should have learned from last month's chase bow at Killarney where he didn't have a great deal of luck in running.
Winner of a point-to-point at Stradbally (good to firm) in April, failed to complete on chase bow at Tipperary last month (2m7f, good). Needs to improve here.
A maiden on the Flat, he was also unable to get off the mark in nine starts over hurdles and has been disappointing in three runs this year. Looks best watched now jumping a fence for the first time.
Four-time winner over hurdles, achieving a peak rating of 133, good effort last month over 1m5f (good to firm) at Leopardstown and merits a look in the market for this chase bow.
Ex-Willie Mullins charge, unable to last home over 2m4f (good) at Kilbeggan this month on first chase start. That was his first start for this trainer and came on the back of 313 days off. Down in distance and with the benefit of the run, could go well here.
Winner of one of his 15 starts but nothing wrong with attitude, and has run well on his five of his six chase starts to date. Crashing fall last time out at Punchestown but should be in the mix assuming no effects of that tumble are lingering.
Grade 2 winner over hurdles and has a touch of class about him. Excellent effort on chase debut at Roscommon (2m, yielding to soft) this month when chasing home all the way winner. Could be more to come and rates a big player.
Talented hurdler who has run well in both chase starts so far, hitting the frame both times. Should go well once more but just a concern that he'll be done for toe over this trip.
Three-time hurdles winner, finished close second in April's chase bow at Fairyhouse (2m½f, good to yielding) before unseating rider next time at Limerick. Decent spin over hurdles at Ballinrobe since and cannot be ruled out of a big run.
Maiden over timber and unable to get competitive on recent chase bow at Tramore over 2m on good ground. Others look more likely in this field.
Forecasts
Peregrine Run (11/8), Roconga (7/2), Our Dougal (11/2), Flaviana (7/1), Grand Partner (10/1), Master Of Verse (12/1), Baby Jake (20/1), Crosshue Boy (20/1), Golden Silence (66/1), The Bay Birch (66/1), Allduckornodinner (66/1), First Crusade (66/1), Banker Burke (100/1)
A Grade 2 winner over timber, Peregrine Run made a promising start in this sphere at Roscommon when second to what could prove an above average rival. With that experience to aid, he looks likely to take all the beating in this field. He's by no means bomb-proof however and there are plenty in the field capable of taking a race like this. Roconga has gone well in two chase starts but may lack pace here while Flaviana will be a threat based on chase debut at Fairyhouse in April. Our Dougal must put a shuddering fall at Punchestown behind but was in the process of running a big race there. BABY JAKE has already landed one of these over C&D and on the back of a solid reappearance at Roscommon, may be able to double his tally.
- Baby Jake
- Peregrine Run
- Our Dougal
