Stable are capable of winning with a first timeout juvenile and they are always worth a look in the betting. This one cost 12,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-sister to a 7f winner African Grey.

From a yard that are not noted for their juvenile winners especially first time out although this one is closely related to the useful Thesme who showed some useful for this yard. Despite the £40,000 price tag she's probably best watched on this occasion.

Pedigree takes the eye and the stable have stepped up of late with their juveniles after a quieter start than usual. She's a sister to the 5f two-year-old Group 2 winner Prince Of Lir and she looks as though she could be a speedy sort and is very much of interest here.

Juveniles from this yard need no introduction and although she only cost 3,500 guineas she would still be of interest given her connections. The dam won a juvenile winner over sprint trips and a market watch is advised.

Cost £100,000 as a yearling and a half-sister to 6f AW winner Renounce. Stable looking to be getting going with their juveniles now and given how much she cost would be among the likely candidates here.

Debut third at Thirsk was her one decent piece of form so far but has regressed since then and even with her experience she looks to have a stiff task here against some likeable newcomers.

Made a step forward from her initial run when third at Carlisle at the start of the month over 5f. That experience could be put to good use here but the form doesn't look that strong overall and the newcomers could well be stronger.

Forecasts

Kalagia (5/6), La Belle Mayson (7/2), Silver Starlight (9/1), Rema Al Kuwait (10/1), Daffy Jane (12/1), Seen The Lyte (16/1), Corton Lass (25/1)

Verdict

The form shown by the duo with experience doesn’t look that strong although Silver Starlight could well show a little more progression on her third start. Rema Al Kuwait looks interesting given that she wasn’t cheap and the stable can get a two-year-old ready first time out and juveniles from the Fahey yard can never be left out of the equation so that would bring in La Belle Mayson. Overall though KALAGIA has a pedigree that looks full of speed and with the Johnston yard now firing better with their two-year-olds she is the pick here.
  1. Kalagia
  2. Rema Al Kuwait
  3. Silver Starlight
