Veteran sprinter has been well beaten on two latest starts despite an apparent lenient mark. 0-7 at this track and 1-26 on ground as quick as this. Hard to recommend at present.
Produced a career best to score at Newcastle and the runner-up has romped home since. Just 3lb higher and more than capable of following up.
Both successes have come at Wolverhampton, including under this pilot two weeks ago, but best turf performance came over this C&D. There is a disparity between her AW and turf marks. Although that has always appeared to be the case, the gap between the two marks is more pronounced now. The stable had the first two in this twelve months ago.
Failed to get a clear run at Beverley and finished a close third. Slightly higher in the weights here and others look better handicapped.
Gets a 4lb pull with Horsforth on Newcastle running with 3¾L to find. That should not be enough to see him turn the tables.
Landed a gamble at Newcastle in November and on the same mark today. Hard to fancy on current form but yard landed a couple of big sprints at Musselburgh on Saturday. One to note in the market.
Front runner who wasn't disgraced on her handicap debut at Redcar without looking as one who was ahead of her initial mark.
Yet to win in nine starts but performances have been improving and another drop in the weights will make him more competitive. Yard have been quiet but they had a couple shape well at York on Saturday at big prices.
Both wins have been over this trip and on good ground, though they came in a Warwick maiden and a seller here. 4lb higher today than when last seen in September and given his record in handicaps, it is not easy to see him winning.
Way below her best last time out when off the pace and finishing down the field. Has run some good races in defeat here but probably better at Musselburgh
Forecasts
Roaring Rory (4/1), Young Tiger (4/1), Krystallite (9/2), Horsforth (6/1), Groundworker (15/2), Eternalist (17/2), Flash City (14/1), Windforpower (14/1), Thornaby Princess (20/1), Camanche Grey (50/1)
Groundworker and Young Tiger are a couple of potential improvers who are worth monitoring in the pre-race markets but it may pay to consider the two recent winners Horsforth and KRYSTALITE. The former scored last time and the runner-up ran out an easy winner next time. That will make her hard to beat but KRYSTALITE appeals as being well treated. Both her wins have come on AW surfaces but she has C&D form and there is a significant difference between her AW and turf marks which is potentially overdone.
- Krystallite
- Horsforth
- Young Tiger
