Back from a break here and a gelding operation after running a sound second last time out at Lingfield over 7f on the AW. Down to a mark of 78 now back on turf and his previous turf form entitles him to be near the head of the market here.

Last win came back in 2015 and there have been a few disappointing outings since then although he did turn in a better performance last time out at Chester when left poorly placed. Now comes back in trip with the visor going on for the first time and must have some sort of chance in this.

This one may well get the run of the race here with very little other pace in the race and he did win here last time out over 6f on ground that was much softer than he'll find today. The extra distance does throw some doubts into the equation but he has won over the trip and might be able to set his own fractions here.

A three-time C&D winner the last of which came off a 1lb higher mark he probably needs to move into a lower grade though and would be of more interest in a 0-70.

Forecasts

Fast Dancer (6/4), Honiara (13/8), Black Caesar (9/2), Good Luck Charm (6/1)

Verdict

The way this race will be run could have an effect on the result here with BLACK CAESAR likely to get the run of things from the front and that may well give him the edge over his main rival Honiara who returns after a break and now gelded. Fast Dancer and Good Luck Charm are both capable sorts although they do both need to break long losing runs.
  1. Black Caesar
  2. Honiara
  3. Fast Dancer
