Disappointed on handicap debut last time out but raced far too keenly in the early stages and has cheek pieces fitted now to assist. Showed plenty of promise in maidens, especially at intermediate trips, and can achieve more now tackling a staying distance for the first time.
Sole win to date came over 1m, but he has shown form over intermediate distances. Some of that was on the all-weather where he's on a much lower rating, but he also ran with credit at Pontefract last time off today's mark.
Has done all his racing so far over much shorter than this, including a win over 7f in a maiden auction at Redcar last August. Needs to prove he can stay this trip, though his sire did win the St. Leger, which gives some cause for encouragement.
Shaped with promise but was generally outpaced throughout his three runs in maidens. Looks a thorough stayer in the making and shouldn't have any issues with the ground.
Showed little in three maidens (all over shorter than this), and has plenty to prove now switched to handicap company for the first time off a mark likely to prove far too high.
Still looking for a first career win but clearly didn't handle the ground at Leicester last time out. Has been going much closer on a fast surface, and she could challenge for a place off a 2lb lower mark.
Ran a pleasing race over this trip at Nottingham last time and remains on the same mark now. Needs to continue improving but has showed no signs of that stopping so far.
Won a Newmarket maiden last July (7f, good to firm), but has been unable to build on that since and looks an unappealing option here even off a lowering mark in a first time visor.
Went close to getting off the mark at Catterick last time out (1m4f, good to firm), but just lacked the pace to challenge in the closing stages. Step up in trip should be to his benefit, though he does have to overcome a gradually rising handicap mark.
Forecasts
Really Super (10/3), Plage Depampelonne (4/1), Migyaas (5/1), Breakwater Bay (6/1), Tor (7/1), Davy's Dilemma (8/1), Kiruna Peak (14/1), Laureate (16/1), Two Dollars (33/1)
The one who appeals most is MIGYAAS. Saeed bin Suroor's charge has shaped like nothing other than a thorough stayer on his three starts so far and looks the type to relish this step up in trip on his handicap debut. He does need to concentrate on the task at hand a little bit better but is given a visor to assist with that, and a bold bid can be expected. Really Super is another unexposed type, who disappointed on handicap debut last time but should go closer if learning to settle, while Plage Depampelonne caught the eye at Nottingham last time out and also needs considering.
- Migyaas
- Really Super
- Plage Depampelonne
