C&D winner last October and successful twice since including in a valuable contest on Derby day at Epsom (good). Upped 3lb for a short-head success on that occasion and interesting to see if he can follow up here.
Winner on his first two starts for this yard on the AW this spring and highly tried twice subsequently. Sent off favourite when well held behind Caspian Prince latest and races off a 1lb lower mark today.
Successful at York (soft) over 5f last month and followed that up by finish a close third over 5f at Epsom (good) in a race won by Caspian Prince earlier this month. Likely to run well again despite a 2lb rise in the weights.
11 time winner including twice in Group company in the past. Successful off a mark of 104 at Leicester (good-to-firm) last October but well beaten at Doncaster (good) off this mark subsequently and entitled to improve for the run here.
Put in two respectable efforts since joining this yard including when fourth of eight over 6f at Haydock (good) in a conditions event a month ago. Races off a mark 7lb higher than for his most recent success today.
Finished runner-up in three of his last five starts including at Newbury (good-to-firm) over this trip in April. Well held behind Caspian Prince at Epsom subsequently and worth a check in the market here.
Successful off a 4lb lower mark on the AW over this trip at Wolverhampton in February but disappointed behind Duke Of Firenze at York (soft) on his return to turf and probably best watched here.
Finished runner-up off a 1lb higher mark in a valuable handicap over 5f at Meydan (good) in January. Best run since when finishing 2L fourth of 18 at York (good) last time out and interesting off the same mark today.
Winner of six of his 52 turf starts to date and not beaten far when ninth at Epsom (good) in a valuable contest last time. Latest victory came in a conditions event at Beverley (good) last June and remains on a mark 3lb higher than for his most recent handicap success.
Winner at the highest level in 2014 but disappointing in handicap company twice this season. Falling in the weights as a result and has won off this mark in the past.
Ready winner of a conditions race over C&D on good-to-firm in April and caught the eye when finishing seventh at Epsom (good) subsequently. Races off a 1lb lower mark today and one for the shortlist having won off a higher mark in his youth.
Attempting to complete a hat-trick when finishing eighth behind Caspian Prince at Epsom (good) earlier this month. Races off a 1lb lower mark here and remains open to improvement.
Beaten a head on his return to action over 5f at Beverley (good-to-firm) in April and ran well at Newmarket over 6f on good-to-firm ground when fourth subsequently. Well held at York (good) last time out and needs to bounce back today.
Victorious over 5f on the AW at Chelmsford earlier this month. Races off a 4lb higher mark today and recent turf outings suggest that more is needed if he's to take this contest.
Finished 3L sixth of 18 over 5f at York (good) last time out. Not beaten far on his two previous starts this season including when fourth off a 3lb higher mark in a handicap at Goodwood (good) last month and an interesting runner here.
Well held on both starts this year including over 5f at Thirsk (soft) last month. Handicap mark is falling and has won off a 5lb higher mark in the past but others are preferred here.
Made the frame twice in three starts in 2017 including when third over 5f at Nottingham (good-to-soft) last weekend. Has won off higher marks in the past but likely to be playing a minor role in this contest.
Forecasts
Orion's Bow (11/2), Desert Law (7/1), Duke Of Firenze (7/1), Gamesome (8/1), Harry Hurricane (9/1), Kimberella (9/1), Line Of Reason (11/1), Robot Boy (14/1), El Astronaute (14/1), Caspian Prince (16/1), East Street Revue (16/1), Bowson Fred (20/1), Confessional (22/1), Stepper Point (25/1), Jack Dexter (25/1), Move In Time (28/1), Mirza (33/1)
With a strong pace likely here DESERT LAW can register a second success of the season at this course by seeing off his rivals here. The selection took a conditions race over C&D in April and wasn't beaten far in a valuable contest when finishing behind a few of these at Epsom last time. Of his rivals here Duke Of Firenze is another likely to benefit from a strong pace while Orion's Bow and Gamesome are others to note in this contest.
- Desert Law
- Duke Of Firenze
- Orion's Bow
