Cost 82,000 gns as a yearling and is steadily getting the hang of things after a couple of near misses. Rated 79 and sets the standard; it will take a good one to overturn him. However, he is bred to get a bit further than this and may be vulnerable to anything with a turn of foot.
Cost 110,000 gns, he is a well-related individual that should appreciate at least a mile in due course. Drops back to 6f, so has a bit to prove regarding the trip. But in the right hands to be placed to good effect once he goes into handicaps after this.
Two starts to date have barely set the pulse racing beyond a dull throb. Tries a new trip but needs to improve out of all recognition to trouble the leading contenders.
Made a satisfactory debut at Kempton and then went on to finish a close up second to a nice type (now rated 86) from William Haggas' yard back at the same course. Off since October but yard remains in good form. Looks the biggest threat to Buxted Dream and may represent a touch better value at this trip.
Forecasts
Buxted Dream (8/15), Tundra (2/1), Meyrick (10/1), Dawn Goddess (28/1), Good Bond (50/1)
Almost a straight match between TUNDRA, who is nominated as a punter's choice to get the better of Buxted Dream, who is very much the one to beat on form, but is more than likely going to be better suited to a sterner test of stamina. Meyrick is the best of the rest but already has a lot to prove.
