Posted two decent efforts since joining his current yard and should enjoy the underfoot conditions. Still 3lb higher than his last winning mark but in obvious good heart and entitled to be thereabouts.

Last won from a mark of 86 but recent form suggests they were heady days which may not be repeated. Out of form and even a switch in stables has failed to rekindle his interest. Hard to fancy.

Three starts for Andrew Balding yielded nothing but a lenient handicap mark. Not much to glean from debut for his new yard at Newcastle and the step up in trip needs to bring about a big chunk of improvement.

Pedigree doesn't scream for middle distances but recent form suggests the step up in trip is what is required. Won over 7f on good to firm ground at Doncaster, so has conditions to suit. The betting may shed some light on how well the new trip is expected to fit into the plans.

Plenty to take from his recent debut for a new yard and is unexposed at the trip. More to offer and another that adds spice to a hot little contest.

Been an expensive favourite to follow lately but not fared too badly in terms of finishing positions. Up in class but should hold his own; would appreciate a drop of rain though.

On a competitive mark and noteworthy the blinkers replace the cheekpieces experimented with last time. Looks the stable's second string but the betting will more than likely assist in determining the pecking order.

Won fro a mark of 50 last September but struggled after reassessment; two starts this season have been poor and the application of an eyeshield needs to have a very positive impact. Others make more appeal from a betting angle.

Forecasts

Monsieur Glory (5/2), Ya Jammeel (11/4), Tripartite (7/2), Al Khafji (7/1), Bluff Crag (7/1), Iballisticvin (10/1), Arrowzone (12/1), Hard Toffee (12/1), Onehelluvatouch (20/1), Mr Andros (25/1)

Verdict

YA JAMMEEL is the most interesting contender and, having made a very satisfactory start for his new yard, he may well find the requisite improvement over a trip that appears to suit. Tripartite may be the better hope from the Jeremy Gask-trianed pair, while Monsieur Glory is also capable of pushing the selection all the way.
