By far the most exposed runner here, and has not looked capable of winning a maiden of this nature (even with such a small field), on just about any of his starts. Cheek pieces tried for the first time.
Has finished second on each of his starts so far, all of them over a mile. Shaped with plenty of promise on each occasion and the first-time headgear now added could make the difference in the smallest field he's faced to date.
Makes his first appearance as a gelding having gone close in a number of maidens and a handicap. Below-par at Kempton last time but can do better now back on turf.
Ran well in two maidens last year and makes his slightly belated seasonal return now. Showed improvement between those two runs and should go close again if able to overcome the lay-off.
Forecasts
Cool Team (8/11), Harbour Rock (3/1), Envisaging (9/2), Brise De Mer (9/1)
This looks relatively competitive given it's such a small field, with slight preference for HARBOUR ROCK. He ran well in a pair of maidens last year, improving between the two and getting within half a length of losing his maiden tag on the second of those. He should be the one to beat if able to overcome a lay-off since October, ahead of Cool Team, who has run very well in three maiden events so far. Envisaging should easily prove third best if bouncing back from a disappointment at Kempton last time out.
