Back on the scoresheet over a little further here last time but consistency hardly his forte. 5lb rise is fair if he can build on that effort but suspicion is he may struggle.
Long time since he has run on the Flat but would appear to be on a workable mark returned to this sphere and he gets the services of an apprentice well worth his 5lb claim. Every chance he can take advantage of this lenient mark here with drying ground to his liking.
Showed improved form last time for this yard when runner-up at Sandown and trainer has been in flying form of late. Holds a solid each-way chance up 3lb in the handicap despite still being a maiden.
Back-to-back winner on the AW over the winter and not disgraced returned to turf here when finishing behind Thames Knight here last time. Gets a nice swing in the weights with that rival and he may come on a little for that run.
Arrives in search of a hat-trick having won back-to-back races in the space of four days last month, both with this jockey riding. Set to find life tougher from a 7lb higher mark though and was all out when winning last time.
Winner in a Listed contest in France for Aidan O'Brien but unplaced on all 14 starts for this yard across both codes and looks up against it once again here.
Galileo gelding not been seen since the middle of the 2015 season. Interesting connections persevere but very much entitled to need this run.
Consistent sort who won back-to-back races at Southwell in January. Unfazed by the step up in trip on three recent efforts but can take a keen hold in his races and would improve if he could settle better. Draw not ideal and others probably a little better handicapped.
Not won since his debut in 2013 and quite clearly been frustrating to follow since. Has gone close on occasions and is on a career low mark now but others make more appeal.
Lost his maiden tag at Kempton in November but not beaten far in two turf starts since. Probably has one in him off this sort of mark and proved he handled the track when finishing fourth of 14 here two starts back. Opposition wouldn't want to let him get an easy time of it on the front end.
Won a maiden at Wolverhampton over a year ago but has finished well beaten on most of his starts since including when tailed off at Brighton on comeback run last month. Has a fair amount to prove now.
Well-handicapped on the pick of his efforts but he's yet to prove that he properly stays this trip and he looks better suited to faster ground on turf or an AW surface.
Forecasts
Silver Ghost (11/4), Fast And Hot (6/1), Essenaitch (7/1), Thames Knight (15/2), Azzuri (8/1), Balancing Time (8/1), Cordite (9/1), Milky Way (14/1), Art Of Swing (16/1), Rightway (33/1), Archangel Raphael (40/1), Ban Shoof (66/1)
Silver Ghost gave the impression that his turn may be near at Sandown last time and Balancing Time may come on for his most recent run but it's Dan Skelton's AZZURI who makes most appeal and could potentially be well-handicapped returned to this sphere.
- Azzuri
- Silver Ghost
- Balancing Time
