Plenty of placed juvenile form before scoring by just under 2L at Roscommon in a 7F+ maiden in August 2016. Slowly stepped up in trip, and finished fifth of ten on his reappearance at Navan last week (1m2f). Bred to come into his own over this trip and holds various Group 2 entries at Royal Ascot later this month.

Maiden winner at Leopardstown in June 2016 (1m good), but expensive to follow since then, admittedly mixing it at Group level against the likes of Churchill and Capri. Finished a couple of places ahead of Sir Edwin Landseer when third to Tilly's Chilli at Navan last weekend and shapes as if likely suited by this step up in trip.

New Approach filly who might well have won on her second start at Limerick in late April but for a barging match inside the final furlong, but went one better (by a short head) when dropped in trip at Gowran last month. Ground less of a worry (should suit) than this trip.

Five race maiden and twice finished behind Khudha in Limerick handicaps during April. Plenty to find with the principals on a line through Tilly's Chilli.

Slowly getting the hang of things as he steps up in trip, and recorded his best effort when third (beaten less than 1L) to Hyperdrive over 1m3f at Limerick in April. Holds Galtymore, but some of the other runners appear stronger.

Forecasts

Sir Edwin Landseer (2/1), Modern Approach (9/4), Galtymore (4/1), Khudha (6/1), Eagle Spirit (6/1)

Verdict

SIR EDWIN LANDSEER has plenty of lofty future entries, which are probably over optimistic unless he begins to make rapid fire progress. However, he could prove the pick of these rivals despite having a shade to find with Eagle Spirit who finished two places in front of him at Navan last week. Both of those horses are entitled to come on plenty for that race, but narrow preference is for father (Aidan) over son (Joseph) in this instance.
  1. Sir Edwin Landseer
  2. Eagle Spirit
  3. Modern Approach
