Longtown Handicap

Feasible that this horse isn't well suited by Ripon (well beaten on both tries at that track) and his best effort so far has come with cut at Redcar in August 2016, but needs to take a step forward in order to land this on his second start in a handicap.

A half-brother to a couple of winning sprinters, but hasn't shown much ability in four starts in 2016. Returns to action for his seasonal reappearance with a host of added aids (blinkers and tongue tie) to help sharpen his focus.

Improved on three starts in maidens when fourth to Iftitah on handicap debut at Newcastle (7F) in October. Showed plenty of pace that evening, so this drop back in trip might not be too problematic.

Not really bred for this trip, but has shown pace and a limited amount of ability in three starts between 6F and 1m. Makes his handicap debut from a mark of 60 with improvement a possibility.

Sharp enough as a juvenile for Ollie Pears, and won the valuable Rous Selling Stakes at York in June 2016. However, has badly lost her way since, finishing last in her three most recent outings. Possible that she's not trained on, but if any trainer can 'rebuild' her, this one can. Stable debut.

Not helped by a wide draw on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton last week, but finished well from off the pace to take third place. That was the second consecutive fair effort on Tapeta, and she looks well treated off a mark of 52 if able to translate that improvement back to turf.

Boasts some signs of ability on Tapeta despite not winning, but has appeared to lose her way since November 2016. Well beaten on her return to action last month and switched to turf with cheek-pieces applied seeking a revival.

Irish raider who is a ten race maiden, but seeks to exploit a lowly turf rating in England. Travelled well for a long way at Ayr latest (third), but didn't find too much at the business end of the race, and that isn't the strongest level of form.

Ran well enough on her debut at this track as a juvenile in June 2016, but less so on her handicap debut here in August and fair to say overall that she's not shown much promise since. Hard to envisage her being good enough even at this lowly level.

10 race maiden whose best effort came on the Tapeta at Newcastle in March, but possibly a shade flattered by that run and hasn't shown a great deal on turf since, so easily ignored.
