Scored off this mark on soft ground last summer and gained her first win since at Chelmsford on her first start of 2017. Shaped as if amiss on two subsequent starts though and well-being taken on trust currently.
Still a maiden after six starts but has gone close on a couple of occasions, both with cut in the ground. Booking of this jockey catches the eye and she went close when last seen at Nottingham when only just pegged back. Interesting runner.
Sir Percy filly, cost 170,000 gns as a yearling. Kept on well after dwelling at the start on debut at Newcastle and confirmed that promise with a win at Kempton in December. Switches to turf now and opening mark looks fair so should give another good account.
Very consistent and didn't need to improve at Hamilton last time when winning with ease. Will need more in a deeper contest carrying a 6lb penalty but looks the type to carry on progressing this season.
Not won on turf since 2014 and often too keen to do herself justice in her races. Fair effort at Lingfield last time when runner-up but goes well at that course and there's no guarantee she will back that up here.
High Chaparral filly, cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Improved for her debut effort at Chelmsford but didn't really go on from that last time at Kempton. Step up in trip will probably help but she has a fair chunk of improvement to find if she's to get involved here on handicap debut.
Still a maiden after five starts and it's hard to imagine that she is particularly well handicapped in any fashion. Appears to have learnt to break better after being very slowly away on her first three starts but still hard to fancy until she shows more.
Her two best efforts have come on good to soft ground and quite possible she will get the same again here. Only just failed to reel in the winner at Windsor last time and while a 4lb rise looks a little harsh for finishing second there, she should go close again if in the same form.
Well beaten on all four starts. Needs first-time cheekpieces to bring out a fair amount of improvement.
Failed to place n all five starts to date and looks in need of some relief from the handicapper before becoming of interest.
Forecasts
Titi Makfi (9/4), Gallifrey (11/4), Carol (13/2), Peloton (8/1), Vigee Le Brun (8/1), Prize Diva (16/1), Starlight Circus (16/1), Ejayteekay (25/1), Ixelles Diamond (25/1), Junoesque (33/1)
CAROL looks to have a solid chance of getting off the mark with Ryan Moore booked to ride. She went close last time and a 2lb rise in the weights would see fair enough for that effort. Gallifrey would appear to be on a fair opening mark and the switch to turf could see her improve further. Titi Makfi is a consistent sort who should go on improving now she has got a win under her belt.
- Carol
- Gallifrey
- Titi Makfi
