Clarendelle, Inspired By Haut-Brion Handicap

Won a maiden with ease at Wolverhampton having clearly improved for either the gelding operation or the winter break. Followed it up with a placed effort at Chester last time, having the run of the race somewhat on the front end. Needs improvement and may find a couple too good again here.

Improved for his handicap debut at Newbury last time finishing second of 10. Had the rest of the field well beaten so 5lb rise in the weights perhaps not too harsh but significant step up in trip perhaps not in his favour.

Won a Kempton maiden but struggling a little in handicap company since. Softer ground is an unknown and probably best watched for now.

Won a weak looking maiden towards the end of last year and likely to be out of his depth in this company. Well beaten last month on return and easy enough to oppose after that disappointing effort.

Struggled when trained by Mark Johnston and looks up against it here on first start for new yard. In need of relief from the handicapper.

Well beaten on all five starts to date and finished fifth of eight when a well backed favourite at Catterick last month. Should appreciate the step up in trip but hard to fancy.
