Winner of a weak looking race on fast ground at Salisbury:yard in good form and 4-10 around here. Full-brother won on firm ground so conditions raise some concerns.
Choicely bred gelding who won on debut for his new yard but flopped at Newmarket. Shaped much better in first time cheekpieces and on softer ground two weeks ago. Slightly longer trip and stiffer track will help.
Improved towards the backend of last season but well below that level this year whilst the yard were out of form. Stable are going much stronger now and a drop in the weights helps too.
Showed steady improvement in maidens before opening his account on handicap debut last week. Showed good battling qualities to score by a nose and carries a penalty as a result. Lightly raced and open to further improvement.
Half-brother to Ribchester cost 85,000 gns as a yearling but struggled to make an impact in three maidens last season. Appeared to find a mile too short on handicap debut and 1m2f too far last time so today's trip looks perfect. Dropped in grade and one to take seriously.
Well down the field in first three runs of the campaign but offered some encouragement last time. Up in grade amidst doubts she will stay this far.
Cheap purchase who has been sent off at lengthy odds for his first three runs. Beaten 33L into third last time. Has his first run on turf for his handicap debut.
Well down the field in three maidens with a hood worn for the latest. Up in trip for handicap debut and with plenty to find on form.
Forecasts
Archi's Affaire (2/1), Golconda Prince (7/2), Musikel (4/1), Cartavio (5/1), Coral Princess (11/1), Elite Icon (16/1), Devil's Guard (16/1), Dream Team (20/1)
Archi's Affaire and Cartavio are winners last time who are on the upgrade. It is hard to argue either are well handicapped in this but both possess the scope to go in again. Ribchester's half-brother Golconda Prince may find this is his trip but preference is given to MUSIKEL. The first time cheekpieces had a positive effect last time when proving himself to be suited by similar conditions to those forecast here. The stiffer finish and slightly longer trip are to his advantage. The son of Frankel had two subsequent winners rated 82 and 69 behind when landing a maiden at Newcastle which suggests he is attractively weighted here.
- Musikel
- Golconda Prince
- Archi's Affaire
