All three wins have been with some cut in the ground, so the forecast rain in the area won't go amiss. Has only managed to win one handicap from a mark of 80, though that is largely because he has been keeping Listed company for the most part. Has the ability to get heavily involved from this mark and is very much respected.
Loves this venue, with four C&D wins plus one over 5f to his name and acts equally well on good or good to firm. Latest win was in this grade here in August from today's mark and this is his first race back in a class three since then. Everything points to another good performance, though any cut in the ground would be a definite negative.
Stays 7f, but three of his four wins have been over today's trip and is at his best on good or slower ground. Has gone eight starts since his last win (in 2015) and is now 1lb below that last winning mark, so handicapper has given him a squeak and should strip fitter for his Newbury reappearance.
1lb lower today than when winning over C&D in this grade for Tom Dascombe in August. Goes on any ground and should be fit and ready for this after a couple of runs this term, so looks a very interesting proposition.
Yet to finish out of the frame in five starts, winning a 6f Wolverhampton maiden in June 2015 and then finishing runner-up by 2L on his handicap debut at Newmarket (6f, good) only his only start since. Same mark today and has a 22-month absence to overcome, but his trainer has an enviable record here and he looks very interesting.
All wins have been over 5f/6f and on good ground or mainly with some cut underfoot, so recent rains a plus. 3lb lower than when last scoring at Thirsk in 2015 and although he has failed to sparkle in two starts to far this year a much better effort could be on the cards.
Has C&D wins on soft and good ground to his name, the best of them being almost a year ago from a mark of 84. 2lb higher today but went well in a stronger race than this at York last time and looks to have a serious chance. The more rain the better for him.
All of his best turf form has been on a sound or fast surface, so recent rains are a negative for him. 7lb higher than when scoring at Hamilton (6f, good to firm) last month and welll beaten when stepped up to this level at Thirsk last time. Looks one of the less likely winners.
Twice a winner here, the last of his nine successes being over C&D (good) in September 2015 from 11lb higher. Has not come close to that form since and hard to recommend him with any enthusiasm for this despite that attractive looking mark. Won't mind any easing in the ground.
Won over C&D (good) in April 2013 and has largely been consistent at his level since then, his best winning effort being his most recent at Pontefract (6f, good) last July from 1lb higher. Won't mind if the ground gets softer and looks booked for another very competitive effort.
7lb lower than when scoring on the All Weather at Newcastle in November and all eight career successes have been over this trip. Handles any ground (especially with cut) and is back on a mark from which he won on turf at Carlisle in September under this pilot. Can leave recent form behind him and go close.

Eccleston (4/1), Atletico (9/2), Zanetto (11/2), Shared Equity (13/2), Flying Pursuit (7/1), Pipers Note (15/2), Scrutineer (8/1), Jordan Sport (8/1), Reflektor (8/1), Johnny Cavagin (12/1), Another Wise Kid (16/1), Kenny The Captain (16/1), Zylan (16/1), Snap Shots (20/1)
A very competitive event where there are plenty with claims and the suggestion at a price is KENNY THE CAPTAIN. Tim Easterby's gelding has been off the pace so far this season, but he is now on a dangerous looking mark and will welcome the recent rains. Atletico looks very interesting and is unexposed, though he does have a long absence to overcome, while Johnny Cavagin should be thereabouts. Snap Shots and Scrutineer are others with claims, while a much better effort from Eccleston is anticipated.
