Runner-up at the Curragh when trying to make all (6f, good) in a race that looked stronger than this on paper and has since changed hands and makes his British/stable debut here. Should be heavily involved.

€6,000 yearling and half-brother to 5f juvenile winner Applebury and 7f winner Stars N Angels. Dam placed over 7f (AW) and full-sister to 5f-7½f Italian winner (inc. 6f Group Three), out of Italian 5f Group Three winner. Plenty to like about his pedigree then and market check advised on debut.

Well held in both starts over this trip so far in a division of the Brocklesby and then a similar race to this as Beverley last time and look likely to be showing more when he moves into nurseries.

€42,000 yearling. Second foal of Miss Dutee and a half-brother to 6f/7f winner False Id. Dwelt and green early on when making his debut over 6f at Newcastle last month. Did his best work late on there and can pick up that thread and do better this time.

26,000 gns yearling. First foal of his 7f 2yo/1m2f Listed-winning dam. Grandam won over 7f-1m and her grandam was a 6f 2yo winner. Yard's first juvenile turf runner of the campaign (usually has a respectable 9% strike rate) and the market should tell us more about expectations tonight.

£2,200 yearling and a half-brother to 6f 2yo winner Bluie and Greek 7f winner Dilady. Dam was last in her sole start in a 2yo 6f maiden and half-sister to six winners, mainly in sprints. Yard not had a 2yo winner in several seasons and looks one to watch today.
1,500 gns foal out of an unraced half-sister to 1m4f winner Wadnaan. Grandam a 1m½f-1m2f winning (inc. Listed) half-sister to the very smart GB/US 5f-1m1f winner Needwood Blade. Likely to do better in time and over further.
800 gns foal and out of a 7f Fibresand and 1m2f selling winning half-sister to multiple 1m4f-2m AW winner Coda Agency and Listed-placed 5f-6f winner Piccolo Player. Last part of that pedigree encouraging, though percentage call with debutantes from this yard is to take a watching brief unless strong market vibes.
Dam won over 6f/7f, including at two and is a half-sister to two winners over 1m, one of them as a juvenile. However, beaten 33L last of 11 on debut at Thirsk (5f, soft) and probably one to watch until tried in low grade handicaps.

Forecasts

Another Batt (1/3), Gangland (5/1), Nomorecalls (6/1), Camacho Chief (8/1), Miss Mazzie (25/1), Call Dawn (33/1), Furni Factors (50/1), Your Just Desserts (50/1), Westfield Wonder (66/1)

Verdict

A weak opener where there doesn't really look much to trouble ANOTHER BATT on the evidence of his latest run at the Curragh before changing hands to this yard. A repeat or better looks likely to make him tough to beat. Gangland should be capable of a fair bit more than he showed on his debut, while the remainder that have run look likely to be vulnerable to debutantes Camacho Chief and Nomorecalls, who should be monitored for market confidence.
  1. Another Batt
  2. Gangland
  3. Nomorecalls
