Won at Windsor and at this track before finishing down the field off a higher mark at Newmarket last time. The return to Kempton should see an improvement on that effort, but the handicapper might just have him for now.

Won a Nottingham maiden in 2015 when trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam and makes his debut for a new trainer following a break of over a year. Has presumably had his problems and is likely to need the outing.

Fair hurdler who has won one of his four AW Flat starts. Ran well when third at this track in September, but does not look especially well handicapped.

Only one outing on AW surfaces, but ran well at this course when fourth in a handicap in September. He races off 3lb lower in this and showed enough in a Newbury handicap two starts to suggest he can be competitive.

Won her third start for her current trainer when showing good battling qualities to land a C&D handicap in February. Not so good on the turf at Doncaster last time, but has to be respected back at this venue.

Not beaten far on her last two starts, but has gone up 2lb for not winning and that looks harsh. Others make more appeal.

Forecasts

Captain Peacock (11/4), Clowance One (10/3), Opposition (7/2), Fleeting Visit (4/1), Fergall (8/1), Murgan (8/1), Langlauf (10/1), Zambeasy (14/1), Methag (20/1)

Verdict

Captain Peacock has to be respected on his return to this track and Clowance One would be interesting if the market speaks in his favour. Langlauf is another who has good C&D form, but the suggestion is OPPOSITION, whose ability to handle this surface needs to be taken on trust. He shaped like a winner in waiting last time and has top assistance from the saddle. Fleeting Visit is also in the mix.
  1. Opposition
  2. Langlauf
  3. Captain Peacock
