Looked likely to be suited by at least 6f before his disappointing Newcastle debut, so doesn't look ideal that he drops back to a slightly shorter distance for this first run on turf. Should come on for the experience, but probably one to watch for today.

Would have hoped to have seen more from him at Redcar last time given the benefit of his debut outing at Doncaster in April, but that didn't happen. Another who needs to find a fair bit more to get competitive here. Not badly drawn, but may be best watched with future nurseries in mind.
Has shown improvement in three outings, doing best in a Doncaster novices' auction event (5f, soft) last time, when beaten just ½L. That is the standard bearer for form in this race and a repeat or better would make him tough to beat.

Half-brother to Rapid Ranger, who was placed over 5f at two, out of a 1m/1m2f-placed mare who is a half-sister to the Group-placed 1m/1m2f performer Waseet, out of an unraced half-sister to Arc winner Sakhee. Pedigree suggests that a fair bit further will suit and yard yet to have a juvenile winner this season so probably best watched.

€8,500 yearling. First foal of an unraced half-sister to the Group-placed 1m/1m1f winner Cougar Bay, out of a 1m Listed winner. Grandam an Italian 1m6f Group One winner. Yard not noted for a huge amount of 2yo success and is still looking for its first one on turf this year, so from a wide draw he looks best watched today.

Disappointing on debut last week when sent off favourite and never up with the pace to challenge (6f, good to soft) at Windsor. Can improve for that experience and clearly held in some regard, so could see a much better effort from a good draw this time.
Well beaten on both starts so far on fast ground. May get slower conditions today and that could help her cause, but on what we have seen she looks a more likely contender when she has a handicap mark.

Considering that her pedigree suggests that she wants at least a mile, her debut run at Thirsk was encouraging (5f, soft). This extra half furlong looks positive, though whether she will have the pace of one or two of these is open to question. Nonetheless there is no reason why she can't improve.

Forecasts

Jedi Master (7/4), Twentytwowontdo (9/4), Rampant Lion (5/1), Funkadelic (10/1), Admiral Rooke (11/1), Mearing (16/1), Vegas Boy (16/1), Elixsoft (33/1), Money For Luck (33/1)

Verdict

JEDI MASTER looks to be the standout candidate here and a repeat of his Doncaster run or better will make him tough to topple this time. Twentytwowontdo and Vegas Boy should be able to improve on what we saw from them last time and could figure, although the biggest threat to the selection could come from Windsor flop Rampant Lion.
  1. Jedi Master
  2. Rampant Lion
  3. Vegas Boy
