Landed novice events at Newton Abbot and Huntingdon last term and was running well (although held) when falling at the last at Taunton in January. Given a break since then and has plenty of weight, but a big run not ruled out.
Stable in tremendous form at present. Won well at Chepstow in April but appeared to run out of steam late on over further last time at Exeter. Back to minimum trip and has major claims.
Scored over C&D in August last year off 5lb lower mark, and again at Wetherby in October. Struggled in hot Killarney handicap hurdle last time after a break but better expected now returning to a happy hunting ground.
Won Carlisle beginners chase in october 2015 but has shown little solid form since then. Stable going through a very quiet spell and others are readily preferred.
Respectable chase debut at Southwell recently without setting the world alight. Handicapper hasn't taken much of a chance with him and may need a little leeway before troubling the judge.
Plenty of placed efforts over last three seasons without managing to get his head in front. Appears to lack a finishng kick and hopes rest on first time cheekpieces sparking a change of fortune.
Hit a rich vein of form last summer when landing handicap chase hattrick. Looked in need of the run when tiring quickly on first run following long break here over longer trip last month. Not out of it if fully fit now.
Forecasts
Ink Master (11/10), Tiger Trek (7/2), Marquis Of Carabas (7/1), Owen Na View (9/1), The Grey Taylor (10/1), Spring Steel (16/1), War Singer (16/1)
With the Hobbs team running out of their skins at the moment it's not hard to make a strong case for his INK MASTER who appeared not to get home over a longer trip last time when fading late on. Today's conditions look ideal and he should take all the beating. War Singer is feared despite the steadier of top weight if back on song, while Spring Steel should strip fitter following a recent pipe opener and could take them along at a good clip. Previous C&D winner Owen Na View is another who could figure in a fair event.
- Ink Master
- Spring Steel
- War Singer
