Landed a quickfire hat-trick in juvenile hurdles for this trainer between August and September 2016, but found life tough going in better company thereafter. Switched to the AW in April running in a couple of Wolverhampton maidens, and now handicapped (64) makes his debut in this company at a more galloping track.
Rewarded for a string of consistent efforts over hurdles when winning a 2m4f Hexham handicap hurdle by 8L just under a fortnight ago. Not raced on the Flat since October, when a runner up at Catterick, but holds claims on that effort from a slightly higher mark on AW debut.
Yet to race on synthetics despite a 30 race career in which he has won twice, over 1m3f and 1m4f at Hamilton in September 2014. Now well handicapped from a mark of 60, but his stamina is a major question mark over this trip and his opening two efforts this campaign were moderate ones.
Quirky but talented and relishes an extreme test of stamina. A nine time winner who can drop herself out in races, but was doing her best work late over 2m5f at Pontefract on her penultimate start when a neck second to Tuscan Gold. AW debut, and interesting to see how she handles this surface.
Won a small field apprentices handicap (evens fav) at Wolverhampton, 1m4f, in January 2016, but has generally found it tough going since. Already raced on five occasions since April, but tries this trip for the first time, so improvement can't be ruled out.
A regular winner over this sort of trip for Richard Fahey in the past, but has failed to score in 14 starts for this yard, and returns having been absent since July 2016. Looks up against it in this contest.
Newcastle regular and won a relatively weak event over C&D in January from a 1lb higher mark. Likes to make his challenge late in the day and suited by a good gallop, so impossible to rule out if he gets that strong pace, admittedly recognising that he's a fairly infrequent winner nowadays.
Sedgefield debutant bumper winner in September 2015, and tries this trip for the first time on the Flat after three starts between 1m and 1m2f. Now qualified to race in handicaps (rated 55), improvement can be expected at a track where she has previous experience.
A dual course winner last year (1m4f and over C&D), but has spent the winter months over hurdles without success, last racing at Perth in April. Returns to the Flat on a fair mark (52) and should go well enough.
Fine stamp of a horse, and had looked to be slowly getting the hang of things stepped up in trip to staying tests until finishing tailed off at Redcar latest. Dropped 3lb and a switch back to Newcastle should suit, but can't be considered as a likely winner at this moment in time.
Better known for his exploits over hurdles, and was a winner at Cartmel in June 2016, but has been fairly lightly raced since. Has form at this track from October tied up with Jan Smuts, and could've been expected to need his recent return to action at Carlisle, but with a record of 1 from 18 on the Flat is tough to fancy despite a lowly rating of just 48.
Grand old campaigner down the years, but has spent his career racing over much shorter trips until switched to this yard in 2017. That said; he's raced well enough at up to 2m recently, without ever looking likely to win, and he'll be much more vulnerable over this stiffer test than at Wolverhampton, Kempton or Chelmsford.
Left her previous form behind when springing a 25/1 shock in a low grade 1m6f Redcar handicap in August 2016 (good to soft), but has seemingly reverted to type in two outings since. Little AW form of note, yet is allowed improvement for her recent seasonal reappearance, but overall doesn't look one of the likelier types tonight.

Plenty of runners, but a low grade staying handicap in which it's difficult to hold a strong opinion. Many of these horses know this track well, and these include the likes of Byrongetonefree, Jan Smuts and Psychology. It wouldn't be a great surprise to see Absolute Angel improve for the step up in trip on her handicap debut, and likewise Nachi Falls can show more despite carrying top-weight. However, recent Hexham winner (106 rated) CAPE HIDEAWAY has been in consistent form for a number of months now, and from a mark in the low 60's looks a likely winner switched back to the Flat for his AW debut.
