Couldn't build on a recent win in weak novice auction race in a Pontefract handicap last time, but the drop down to 7f should be a positive one and he isn't totally discounted. Wears a first time visor to combat his previous issues with temperament.
Ran some fair races in novice and maiden races before running just about to form on handicap debut last time. Step up in trip should help him, and his current mark looks fair on the basis of his last run.
Didn't show much in maidens and was if anything even weaker switched to handicaps for the first time at Newmarket latest (7f, good to soft). Difficult to envisage her winning this.
Won a Newcastle maiden in October but has shown nothing since switched to handicaps, and will need to find more in order to have a say here.
Has already won two races, but that hasn't helped his handicap rating and the drop down in trip needs to work wonders following a 12L beating into last at Haydock in April.
Ten race maiden but has rarely put in a poor performance and is interesting now stepped up to 7f given how he has shaped especially on his recent starts.
Ran a career best when switched to Southwell's fibersand last time out, and now makes her first start on turf. Looks an improver with an interesting jockey booking.
Off the mark on handicap debut last time having shown little in his three maidens. Looked on a lenient mark there and comes up 7lb as a result, with the promise of more to come given his profile.
Ran only to a fair level on handicap debut as she did in her three maidens. A step forward would be required, but others have more improving profiles in this field.
Won at Redcar last October but his interrupted career since then (now on the fourth trainer of his career already) has shown in his races, where he has struggled to get involved.
Has gone close on all three of his most recent starts, clearly relishing the slightly sterner test of stamina, though slowly going up the handicap as a result. Still progressing, though, and should be capable of at least fighting for a place.
Not beaten far when sent off favourite at Newmarket last time (1m, soft). Raced keenly that day and deserves another chance to prove what he can do. Not at all discounted back down in trip.

PURSUING STEED is up 7lb for a handicap victory last time out, but he looked on a lenient mark on that occasion and with the improvement he has shown his current weight could easily still be workable. He is the selection over a C&D which should suit him given his previous performances, ahead of Mont Royal, who ran a solid race on handicap debut last time, and Coverham, who has shown marked improvement since stepping up to this specialist trip.
- Pursuing Steed
- Mont Royal
- Coverham
