Salisbury maiden winner when he was with Simon Crisford and has been given a chance by the handicapper of late for his new yard. Tried over further than this 6f he was back to sprinting last time out but needs to show more before he's of interest.
Last win came off a 4lb higher mark than this last year and he probably needed the run last time when returning from a long break from the track. Seasonal return came on soft ground (unproven on surface) at Thirsk and he looked as though he needed the run after starting slowly. More expected here.
Lightly raced sort who scored on her first run for a new yard last year over 6f (good/firm) at Hamilton with cheekpieces back on. Failed to fire on her one subsequent run for the same yard and now makes her seasonal debut for a new yard back on a sound surface.
AW maiden winner over 5f at Newcastle last year who took advantage of a fall in the weights to score in a Hamilton 5f handicap last time. Travelled well through the race but didn't look to have much in hand although she should still be competitive off 2lb higher with ground to suit.
Winner of two sellers last year one here over 7f and probably better over that longer trip. Has struggled off marks like this in handicaps before and may find one of two of these too speedy over this sharp 6f.
Course winner over 5f on soft ground off a mark of 55 he and his stable have come back to life of late and he ran well here over 5f last time. Has won over 6f (off a career low mark) but suspicion that 5f suits him better although he likely to try and lead here even from a wide draw.
Well held in four maidens (first two in France when trained by John Hammond). Only cost ÂŁ1,500 guineas and makes his handicap debut here off a lowly mark having shown little in two starts for this yard over further.

Forecasts
Tafteesh (9/4), Sir Geoffrey (3/1), Lackaday (4/1), Exotic Guest (9/2), Bismarck The Flyer (6/1), Nuala Tagula (8/1), Roman Times (11/1), Mercers Row (14/1), Zaytoon (16/1)
The first division of low-grade sprint handicap and a few of these have met before. Sir Geoffrey is probably better over 5f but with his yard and in good form he’s hard to leave out of the equation here especially if he gets a relatively soft lead. Exotic Guest looks likely to come on for his reappearance and he’s won off a higher mark in the past as has Mercers Row. NUALA TAGULA doesn’t look to have much in hand from this mark but should run her race and in a field lacking any progressive types may be able to follow up her Hamilton win over this longer trip.
- Nuala Tagula
- Sir Geoffrey
- Exotic Guest
