Has mixed hurdling with AW racing in 2017, and finished third in a maiden hurdle at Perth on her latest outing last month. Has plenty of experience of this track without winning (twice a runner up over 1m4f).

Won three races in France between 1m2f and 1m4f (mainly on soft ground on turf, but also once on the AW), but has been well beaten in four attempts over hurdles for this yard. Stable have saddled a couple of well backed winners here so far in 2017, so interesting if the market speaks in her favour.

Won twice over 1m on turf early doors in 2015 and 2016 (Ripon and Pontefract) and should be highly competitive from his current AW mark of 67. Probably needed his Wetherby reappearance last month (sixth) and that was a decent race with the fourth placed Mon Beau Visage winning at Pontefract on Friday.

Placed on a couple of occasions for previous trainer Pat Phelan, but moved on for £4,600 in August 2016 and absent from the track since. Likely to need his return (stable debut) but the handicapper is slowly giving him a chance.

Won four times (twice on turf, twice on the AW) for Mark Brisbourne in late summer 2015, and shot up the weights as a result. Appeared held from his mark throughout 2016, and hasn't raced since July, but has now dropped to his last winning mark and joined a new yard who has done extremely well at this track since the introduction of Tapeta.

Boasts a 33% strike rate on the AW with both career successes coming at this track (1m2f and 1m4f). However, remains 3lb higher than his latest success in August, and has moved onto pastures new since his last run here in October 2016. On a good mark on turf, and likely to benefit for this outing.

Won a 1m Lingfield maiden for Chris Wall in April 2016 before joining this trainer for 6,000 gns in October. Gradually working back to form after a lengthy break since his return to action in March, and placed on each of his last two starts including behind a subsequent winner at Thirsk last month.

Inconsistent performer, but ran a solid enough race on debut for this trainer over 1m here in late March, but was unable to build upon that at Chepstow subsequently. Stamina a worry over this trip (furthest he's tackled) and can only be watched at the moment.

Ex Neil Mulholland trained, but has shown nothing in three starts for this yard including on AW debut here in March. Back on the Flat after racing over hurdles and very tough to fancy.

Won on turf over this trip at Ayr in August 2016, and has proved effective at this track in five spins on the AW. A runner up on both attempts at this C&D, that form admittedly isn't the strongest, but from a similar mark holds place prospects off a light weight.

Forecasts

London Glory (11/4), Auspicion (7/2), Almutamarred (6/1), Omotesando (8/1), Apalis (8/1), Henpecked (12/1), Overhaugh Street (12/1), Arrowzone (12/1), Yensir (14/1), Highway Robber (20/1), Sandgate (150/1)

Verdict

A tight and compact opener in which a number of the runners have joined new trainers. Apalis was a three time winner in France and could be interesting on her Flat debut for Mick Easterby if the market support arrives, whilst Oliver Greenall has a fine record with his runners at this track, and his new recruit Omotesando is handicapped to go close. The likes of London Glory and Highway Robber have proved their well-being with a couple of placed efforts, but at the likely odds, a chance is taken on AUSPICION despite a slight worry about this 1m2f trip. He is lightly raced on the AW and has fallen to a highly competitive mark and should be much sharper for his recent Wetherby outing.
