Bit of an inconsistent type but he is proven on a variety of ground and he stays well. The form of the yard would be the main concern.
C&D winner who has worked his way back down to his last winning mark. Beaten favourite last time but well suited to a range of conditions and he was only beaten 3¼L at last time and runner-up the time before so must have leading claims again.
One win from 13 chase starts but more consistent than that record suggests and looks capable of scoring off this sort of mark. First-time tongue-tie applied and should give another good account.
Just one win since 2014 and still 4lb ahead of his last winning mark. Not been in much form this year, needs relief from the handicapper and his best form is on softer than what he's likely to get here so others preferred.
Useful on his day but shown nothing in five starts for this yard. Becoming well-handicapped as a result but suspicion is that he's regressing and while he won't mind the ground if the rain stays away, the yard have been in poor form.
Back-to-back winner at Ludlow in 2014 but not won since and has had a largely interrupted career. Comes back from another absence and can only be watched in current form.
Gained his first win under rules over C&D last month and has run well at this track previously. 8lb rise looks a little harsh but no obvious reason he won't go well again having been given time to recover from that effort.
New yard took advantage of his falling handicap mark at Stratford latest, always doing enough to hold the runner up and 4lb rise is fair. Stays well and acts on most ground, so if in same form, holds a leading chance here.
This ex-French gelding's last success came in November 2015 at Bangor for Venetia Williams, but he'd been off the track for 12 months when returning for this trainer (stable debut) at Hereford in January. Must overcome another absence again and would like softer conditions but he's a strong stayer who is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark.
Veteran that came good around this time last year, and certainly on a workable mark, but didn't really show enough at Stratford on latest start to suggest he's a winner in waiting, and best form is over shorter.
Forecasts
Belmount (11/4), Super Scorpion (3/1), Gorsky Island (9/2), Fort Worth (5/1), Tinker Time (10/1), Abracadabra Sivola (10/1), Alberobello (12/1), One For The Boss (16/1), Gone Too Far (20/1), Union Jack D'ycy (40/1)
BELMOUNT has form over this C&D and he was a well backed third at Uttoxeter last time; he could gain compensation here. Alberobello is another last time out winner who should go close provided he's in the same form while Fort Worth is better than his record suggests.
- Belmount
- Alberobello
- Fort Worth
