Failed to match the pace set by A Momentofmadness at Goodwood and looks clearly held by that rival. Beat Mecca's Angel in his prime and still capable of winning races despite his obvious decline. Chances these days appear to hinge on being able to get out and dominate. The topweight has already proved he can deny him that luxury.

Has now won five races over C&D. Will get the strong pace he needs and he has winning form in this grade. Still remains fairly treated and impossible to rule out.

Having first run for new trainer who has not had a winner since 2013. Scored at Lingfield in November but subsequently lost his way. Best watched on first run since February.

Both career victories have come from marks of 77. Went down narrowly off this rating at Wolverhampton before finishing behind Stepper Point at Windsor. Has plenty to find on that form but he is definitely capable of better.

Has failed to make the frame since her last victory over a year ago. Dual C&D winner who tends to give herself plenty to do and with a strong pace likely there is a real possibility it will be a similar story.

His better recent efforts have come on the AW where he is rated 10lb inferior than on turf. Remains 0-9 on artificial surfaces and contests a hot race with more consistent rivals arriving in better shape.

Forecasts

Excellent George (7/4), A Momentofmadness (2/1), Stepper Point (5/2), Dynamo Walt (10/3), Lydia's Place (6/1), Rural Celebration (6/1), Saved My Bacon (8/1), Top Boy (8/1), Ballesteros (9/1), Seve (33/1)

Verdict

Rural Celebration drops in class having run well for a long way at Nottingham in a Listed race. She has a plum draw but her yard are finding winners hard to come by. She will help set a furious pace which will also be fuelled by the presence of Stepper Point, Lydia's Place and A MOMENTOFMADNESS. The latter has an unbeaten record on artificial surfaces and this track should suit his bold style. Stepper Point could not lie up with him last time and it is doubtful few of these will fare any better tonight. Derek Shaw's pair of Dynamo Walt and Top Boy will appreciate the strong gallop and will be putting in their best work at the finish. The pair are closely matched on recent form and neither have done that well in the draw.
  1. A Momentofmadness
  2. Rural Celebration
  3. Dynamo Walt
