Did the best of those ridden close to the pace when caught close home at Carlisle last week. This looks a better race but back to trip which produced his last two victories in France.
Had a hard race when winning on seasonal bow last term and has failed to reproduce that effort since. Has dropped below his last winning mark but has not been finding much for pressure of late.
Now 8lb below his winning mark of April 2016. Produced best run for new trainer at Doncaster last time and is significantly down in grade for this.
The fitting of cheekpieces had a positive effect last November but, having finished last on his next two starts, connections now reach for the hood. Jockey booking catches the eye and worth a market check as best form more than good enough.
Wins at Southwell and Doncaster so far this season, the last off a 3lb lower mark shows that this strong traveling sort should be respected. Disappointed on two starts since the Doncaster win so does need to bounce back, although his yard are going better now.
Has been busy this year and has picked up three wins. Had a contested lead last time which meant he went off too hard on sticky ground. Previous effort at Chelmsford gives him a fair chance off this career high mark.
In excellent form over 7f and a mile in 2015 winning four handicaps with three of them coming here although he still remains above his last winning mark and was well held on his return.
Had a few subsequent winners behind when landing his maiden and not disgraced on handicap bow behind a well supported favourite. Third has scored since and a 6lb rise in the weights may not be as harsh a penalty as it looks.
Made all to land his maiden at Newmarket toward the backend of last season. The form is nothing special and handicapper has taken a fair view. Dam was best over longer trips and another positive ride is to be expected. Yard have been in good form of late and the market will tell us how ready he is.
Won on his debut over 6f as a juvenile and faced some difficult tasks subsequently, notably at Royal Ascot and when chasing home Dante winner Permian. Shaped better than his final position indicates last time and one to note when market vibes are positive.

Makkaar starts the campaign on a fair mark and with his trainer in form. He may need further in due course but, if ridden as positively as most of this yard's runners, he ought to give a good account. Fayez and Dragon King are two to note in the ring with both having good cause to perform better than they did last time. Tavener can be expected to run his usual honest race under a positive ride. SABADOR is a rare runner here for his trainer. The form of his last two races has a solid look about it and a 6lb rise in the weights is more than within his scope.
