Good second at Ascot last time out reads well and was certainly up there with the best of his recent efforts. Has gone well fresh in the past but has to be a concern that he hasn't won since 2015 and may struggle to back things up under topweight.
Good effort to finish third (over 7f) at this course last time out and has claims if he can build on that performance. However, his wins on turf have been well spread out and the fact that he was only seventh in this race from a 1lb lower mark last year is off-putting.
Another on a long losing run and usually needs at least a couple of outings to blow the cobwebs away. Off since September, so may be best watched this time around.
Shown promise in a few of his starts this season - enough to suggest he can hold his own in this company when he is in the right frame of mind. Consistency isn't his strongest point, however, and he looks risky for win only purposes from a 3lb higher mark than at Thirsk last time out.
Has made good progress on the AW since joining his current yard but carried the form over with a win on the turf at Chepstow earlier in the month. Up 7lb for that success, he faces a tougher assignment today, and needs to conclusively prove he is as effective on a firmer surface. Eye-catching jockey booking says he will be given every assistance from the saddle.
Was in good form on the AW at Southwell and reverts to turf on a handy rating in comparison. Off since March but acts on most types of ground; may need the heavens to open for his claims to be enhanced.
Enjoyed a good spell after joining his current yard last summer. The handicapper soon got to grips with him, however, and he looks weighted to the hilt from 9lb higher than his last winning mark. May have needed the run when fifth of seven on his reappearance at Lingfield earlier this month, but still faces a stiff test on these terms.
His in-form yard won this race last year with a horse on a similar rating, so has very feasible chance at the weights. Return to a mile is also in his favour, so one to bear in mind if his claims are backed up by interest from the betting market.

A chance is taken that RIPOLL will be suited by the return to Leicester and, with booking of a Jim Crowley boosting his chances, the drop back to a mile may be just what he needs. Roman De Brut will also benefit from the assistance of a leading jockey and shouldn't be underestimated in his bid to land his hat-trick of wins. Firm ground may not be ideal for him, so it can also pay to take notice of the betting activity surrounding Character Onesie, who is well handicapped just now and creeps into the weights from an attractive mark. Showboating is also capable at this level but is another that would be suited by any rain getting into the ground.
