Winner of five-point-to-points who has run well of late in two similar races finishing second at Kelso and Hexham. A prominent racer who appreciates this ground he should be able to cope with the drop in trip and this affords him a good chance of breaking his maiden under Rules.
Has won a couple of point-to-points but has shown nothing approaching that form of late and looks to have been set a tough task here.

The jockey booking takes the eye even if the form of this one is relatively modest with the 7l second at Exeter in a recent hunter chase needing improving upon. Has worn a tongue-tie when in winning form in point-to-points and that piece of equipment returns for the first time under Rules today.

Has plenty to prove based on his recent form in this sphere failing to complete on his last three starts and looks out of his depth here.

Has a decent strike rate in point-to-points (6/15) and will have no problem handling conditions here. Shaped much better in his most recent hunter chase (novice event) at Kelso and a repeat of that run would put him in with a chance here with the hood removed this time around.
Reasonable record in point-to-points and ran a creditable first race under Rules in a recent Hexham outing although that bare form leaves him something to find with Bafana Choice. May do better on this second outing under Rules though.
His Rules form so far amounts to just the one pulled-up outing when a 50/1 shot at Cheltenham (lost shoe) and would only have an outside chance here.

A record under Rules that reads 0/22 doesn't inspire confidence here and would be an unlikely winner of this given his form in point-to-points also.

His point-to-point wins have come on soft ground so that's one plus point and prior to his Hexham run he's won his last two start in that sphere. Has work to do with a couple of these on Hexham form although he might be better suited by this shorter trip.

Makes his Rules debut with a hood on for the first time but his point-to-point form isn't that marvelous and he's likely to find this much harder.

Her form was poor in bumpers/hurdles but she has won in point-to-points either side of her disappointing debut in a hunter chase at Cheltenham. This should be an easier task but others are still preferred.
Still to win in point-to-points despite having shown some ability in that sphere and was backed at long odds on her hunter chase debut at Sedgefield last time. Not disgraced but still looked rather limited in finishing a well beaten fourth.

Forecasts

Mickey Miller (5/2), Bafana Choice (10/3), Lotus Pond (9/2), Martha's Benefit (7/1), Towerburn (11/1), Packettotherafters (16/1), Forrardon Xmoor (16/1), Up To Al (22/1), Stagecoach Jasper (28/1), Preacher's Belle (28/1), Cobbler's Rest (33/1), Little Fritz (40/1), Bedford Forrest (50/1)

Verdict

BAFANA CHOICE has already finished ahead of Micky Miller and Towerburn at Hexham on his last run and provided this drop in trip doesn’t hinder him he should be able to maintain his superiority over that duo. The main threat may well come from Lotus Pond who shaped nicely at Kelso recently. The overall form of Forrardon Xmoor doesn’t match up to some of these but the booking of leading rider James King is very interesting and it won’t be a surprise to see him build on his last run at Exeter.
  1. Bafana Choice
  2. Lotus Pond
  3. Forrardon Xmoor
