His last win came over C&D when he'd not been with this yard for long making all off a mark of 124 (runs off 127 today). Ran a respectable race last time at Newton Abbot over further proving no match for the winner but that trip makes life tough for him and he should be more at home here especially if given a positive ride.

Tricky customer who can on occasions look useful as he did at Haydock in January winning the same race for the second year in succession. Was rather harshly punished for that win with a 7lb rise and he's struggled off higher marks since and looked to find nothing when asked for his effort last time and one to be wary of for now.

Took a while to get off the mark over fences finally opening his account last year at Worcester over 2m4f. Not really built on that career best run since in limited opportunities although he should strip fitter for his comeback run last time out at Haydock.

Has run some useful races over fences in the past off higher marks but not seen in this sphere for over a year now when running poorly at Market Rasen. His recent hurdles runs have been very disappointing and he's best watched here.

In nothing like the same form as he was when he was whizzing around here winning off mark as high as 130 (also ran well off a mark of 144). Not actually won since his victory over C&D in June 2015 and looks to have been out of sorts on his last few runs although back from a break now around his favourite course and with the yard back in-form it would not be a surprise to see him run well here.

Not been seen out over fences since falling here in August in a race won by Wadswick Court (was going well at the time) although he did have a little tune-up spin on the Flat recently. Hs won over fences here over shorter the last time off a 1lb lower mark and generally travels well (suited by a strong pace) but this might just stretch him in terms of stamina.

Presenting Junior44
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Henry Brooke| T: M Todhunter| OR:  106| CD
11/4
Has not recorded a win since his purple patch of 2014/5 when he was in prolific winning form at Ayr winning four on the spin. Those wins pushed his handicap mark to a new high and he rather struggled to cope and hasn't looked the same since despite now competing from a mark that has slipped considerably from those heady days.

Forecasts

Wadswick Court (13/8), Jovial Joey (2/1), Presenting Junior (11/4), Fantasy King (6/1), Alderbrook Lad (8/1), Mont Royale (10/1), Ubaltique (12/1), Brave Spartacus (16/1)

Verdict

Both Alderbrook Lad and Presenting Junior would be dangerous if they could recover their old form and may well do so over a C&D where both have been successful. Wadswick Court returns to a C&D where he has also be successful and under positive tactics may well be able to build on his Newton Abbot second to a useful sort and he has a verdict over Fantasy King who may well find his stamina tested at this trip. Nothing in the field though has the progressive profile of JOVIAL JOEY who will need to improve again off this mark but look capable of doing so on the evidence of his Perth win.
  1. Jovial Joey
  2. Wadswick Court
  3. Alderbrook Lad
