Yet to score but has gone close in three of his last four outngs, most recently staying on into second over C&D. Expected to be in the thick of the action again despite 2lb rise in weights.
Solid effort at Navan last time after more than four month break. Should strip fitter and looks one for the short-list in a trappy contest.
Better chaser than hurdler and disapopinted when last seen over timber at Cork in October. Something to prove and would benefit from a little help from the handicapper.
Every chance when fell over fences at Down Royal at the start of the month when still in contention. Earlier hurdles effort suggest he's not without hope and should be on the premises.
Came off second best in a barging match close home last time and subsequently awarded the race, making it 2 wins from his last 3 starts. In fine fettle and should go well despite 6lb hike.
C&D winner in September but out of form on last two starts in the autumn. Returns from a break but has to raise his game to figure.
Dropping down the weights but yet to show any sign of recovering form of maiden hurdle succes at Sligo a year ago. Others make more appeal.
Admirably consistent over last nine start and has risen some 20lb in the weights as a result. Another good run last time out and has to enter calculations in an open contest.
Versatile sort winnng on the Flat, over hurdles and fences. Handicapper has dropped him 7lb since last run and on best of old form would come into the reckoning. Market might prove of interest.
Better over fences than hurdles over the last 12 months and on balance of recent form has something to find with the expected market principals.
Has been chasing of late and last hurdles run left plenty to be desired. Needs to improve on what we've seen so far and may find this tough.
Bits and pieces of form suggest a win here is not toally out of the question but requires a career best effort to figure in the shake up.
Won Clonmel maiden Hurdle in December 2016 then absent for over a year. Has shown little in three starts since return and needs to find plenty of improvement.
Promising effort when fifth of 30 in maiden at Navan in September but disappointed in two subsequent outings. Returns from a break and may do better this summer, but hard to recommend.
Won Kempton Flat handicap for John Gosden five years ago and in the wilderness until staying on well to win Downpatrick handicap chase 10 days ago. Back to hurdles now, but obviously in good form and has a sporting chance once again.
Landed Roscommon maiden hurdle last August but hasn't shone since on the Flat or over hurdles. Runs in a handicap for the first time though and worth noting in case of any market confidence.

A chance is taken that NEWSWORTHY has recovered sufficiently from a fall last time to run to form and make them all go. On balance his form gives him a solid chance and he could be the value in a very open affair. Dawn Raider is respected despite the handicapper getting his teeth into him, and so too is Clounts Meadow who has been on the top of his game of late. Russian Roulette, Popburu and Theturnofthesun are others with legitimate claims in this event.
- Newsworthy
- Clounts Meadows
- Dawn Raider
