Produced best effort yet over hurdles when dropped in trip and shown a little leniency by the handicapper. Shaped that day as though the extra furlong and stiffer finish here will be a plus.
Jumped poorly in the latter stages at Kempton last time. Has plenty to find with Midnight Jitterbug on that showing but it is always hard to dismiss this yard's runners at their local track.
Five-time winner on the Flat and has only had four runs over hurdles. Second at Wincanton but the third has been well beaten since and this mare was comfortably held on her handicap debut last time. Stable had a treble here 12 months ago including a division of this.
16-race maiden who has only made the frame on four occasions. Achieved a Flat rating of 46, and although she looks like making a much better hurdler, her opening mark for her handicap debut in this discipline appears to overestimate her.
Has now won 2-17 following her success in a weak race at Towcester last time on her return from a break. Usually goes well fresh and now faces a harder task in trying to follow up off a career high mark.
Led out of the Tattersall's sales ring unsold at £3,200 earlier this month. Has shown precious little to earn her current mark.
Shaped better at Taunton a month ago but that was a poor race and he got no further than the first at Newton Abbot next time. Stable are 2-122 over the last five seasons.
Has looked moderate in all starts to date and has appeared lacking in resolution. Dropping down the weights but still looks to have something to find.
No sign yet of him reproducing his exploits for Christy Roche, the pick of which came on much softer ground than is forecast here.
No doubting he's on a winning mark but recent form has taken a huge turn for the worse, finishing well beaten on all of his last five starts. Yard can land a punt, however, and is at least worth a look in the market.
Undoubtedly thrown in on the pick of his Irish form which came on a sound surface. Stable landed a touch here last month so worth a check in the market for signs he may be about to bounce back.
Forecasts
Midnight Jitterbug (2/1), Londonia (4/1), Zante (7/1), Kristal Hart (8/1), Jebs Gamble (9/1), Sixties Idol (14/1), Dragon Khan (16/1), Istimraar (16/1), Robindenest (20/1), It's All An Act (20/1), Serveontime (22/1)
The market will probably tell us more than the form book for this with little reliable and recent evidence to go on. Londonia did manage to score last time and needs to produce a career best to follow up. Sixties Idol was supported last time but was soundly beaten and the handicapper appears to have taken few chances. Zante is probably better than his latest run suggests but it is nevertheless an effort that leaves him plenty to find with MIDNIGHT JITTERBUG. The topweight showed she was progressing when third that day and the way she was staying on suggests this slightly longer trip and uphill finish will suit. Kristal Hart represents a top yard that landed a treble on this card last year including a division of this. She will need to improve but is relatively unexposed in this sphere.
- Midnight Jitterbug
- Londonia
- Kristal Hart
