Created a good impression when winning on the AW over 1m at Newcastle first time out but flopped when fancied for a 1m3f Listed Oaks trial at Lingfield next time. Sights lowered now and not hard to imagine her getting back on the winning trail.
Won twice from over 6f and 1m at two before signing off with a disappointing effort in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy (6f, good to firm). Open to improvement this term but may need a run as she steps up in trip.
Won three times up to 7f as a juvenile but handicapper seemed to get her measure in later nurseries. Open to improvement as she steps up in trip for her reappearance and dangerous to dismiss.
Surprise winner over 7f on the AW at Chelmsford on her only juvenile start but uninspiring reappearance over 1m there last month. Hood introduced now and too early to write off from a yard which won this last year.
Unfancied when winning over 1m (good) at Goodwood on her debut but disappointing on soft ground over a shorter trip at Newbury next time. Shouldn't be judged on that and potentially well treated as she reappears in a handicap.
Backward as a juvenile but much more positive signs when third of 12 in a good maiden over 1m (good to firm) at Newmarket on her return (form working out well). Longer trip for handicap bow, must be respected.
Unseated going to post and a market drifter when making a debut over 1m at Wolverhampton in March, yet won convincingly. Longer trip should suit as she makes a handicap bow and has to be considered.
Plenty of racing for her age but has really started to come to hand over this sort of trip, winning at Nottingham and Beverley from her last three starts. Raised a further 4lb though and vulnerable to an improver.
Has run well enough in maidens without really threatening and came up a little short over this trip at Salisbury (firm) on her only previous handicap start on her penultimate run. Others look more convincing.
Looked no great shakes as juvenile but a revelation since stepping up to 1m this season, winning back-to-back races at Redcar and Pontefract (both good to firm). Raised a further 5lb, so longer trip would need to elicit sizeable improvement.
Forecasts
The Sky Is Blazing (3/1), Crimson Rosette (10/3), Canberra Cliffs (5/1), Miss Sheridan (6/1), Clef (8/1), Ebbesbourne (12/1), Set In Stone (12/1), Ice Dancing (12/1), Appointed (25/1), Desert Water (33/1)
Crimson Rosette shaped well in a maiden at Newmarket on her return and the fact the race has thrown up four subsequent winners bodes well for her chances in this handicap. That said, THE SKY IS BLAZING looked potentially better than a handicapper when scoring in fetching style at Newcastle first time out and it may pay to give her another chance to atone for a disappointing display in the Lingfield Oaks Trial. Desert Water and Ice Dancing are also interesting.
- The Sky Is Blazing
- Crimson Rosette
- Desert Water
