2-39 and hasn't managed to get his nose in front in 24 starts since winning the Chester Cup (2m2½f, good) in 2014 from 7lb lower than today. Was beaten 6½L in the same event on his most recent start and despite a 2lb drop he continues to look in need of further assistance from the handicapper.

Yet to win a race beyond 1m6f, but stamina is definitely not an issue, as evidence by her neck second to Montaly in the Chester Cup (2m2½f, good) earlier in the month. Was also very close over 1m4f (good to firm) at Hamilton last time. Up 2lb for that and now has to defy a career high mark if she is to win this.

Backed up a 1m1f (good) Hamilton maiden win with success on his handicap debut at Sandown (1m6f, good to firm) a month later. Beaten favourite from this mark here over 1m6f (good) in September. Taken out of a similar race at York last week because of the soft ground, but gets his conditions here and could go well if he gets this trip.

Sole win from eight starts was in a Salisbury maiden (1m, good to soft) in 2015. Handicapper had his measure in all four starts last season (1m2f-1m4f), but dropped to this grade back at Salisbury last time (1m6f, good to firm) he finished a 3L third, running as if this extra 2f would help. Races from same mark today and not ruled out.

Enjoyed back-to-back Ffos Las wins (1m4f, good and good to soft) last summer on his first two handicap starts. Stepped up to this sort of trip for all his four subsequent runs and has been running consistently well in defeat, most recently as Ascot. Same mark today and headgear now tried to eek out some more improvement. Competitive.

Spent over a year off the track before returning over hurdles in December and has proved his well being with a win at Fontwell in March. Twice won on the Flat over 1m6f on good to soft/soft, though handles it quicker. Beaten 1½L from today's mark when last seen on the Flat here in September 2015. Interesting given recent good jumps form.

Won over this trip at Goodwood (good) in October from 5lb lower than today, but well held on both starts since, including on his return as Ascot when behind Swashbuckle last time. Looking exposed and will need to improve to win this.

Distance winner at Chelmsford in November from a mark of 73. Has won on good to firm ground, though a 12lb hike for that latest win has anchored him when beaten 4L at Kempton (2m) and 8L back at Chelmsford (1m6f) so far this term. Looks up against it from the same mark today.

Forecasts

Parliamentarian (11/4), Yorkidding (3/1), My Reward (4/1), Paris Protocol (9/2), Swashbuckle (9/2), Moorside (8/1), Suegioo (10/1), Velvet Revolution (11/1), Arthur Mc Bride (14/1), Cool Sky (20/1)

Verdict

Yorkidding ran a cracker in the Chester Cup earlier in the month and she can't be ruled out back over this sort of trip, though she is likely to have to be at her best to win this and preference is for MY REWARD. Tim Easterby's five-year-old ran well at Ripon on his way to winning this last year and this time around he comes here after winning that same Ripon event. Back on the same mark as last year's success he can repeat the feat. Moorside, Parliamentarian and Paris Protocol are all unexposed over the trip and good performances are far from ruled out, while Cool Sky could have a big say on the back of some good recent jumping form.
